Hi All, Just wanted to post a quick blog and let you know that I will shortly be resigning as Editor of the majority of the guides that I currently edit here on TV.com - there's nothing sinister behind this (before the gaming rumours start ;) - I just don't have enough free time nowadays to look after all of the guides as they deserve to be looked after, so I'll be retiring to allow more active users to give the guides the love that they deserve! Hi All, Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year. What did everyone get for Christmas? How did you celebrate the New Year? For Christmas I got the usual PJs, T-shirts, Books, etc, plus I got Guitar Hero for my Xbox, so I've been rocking to that for the last week or so! New Years I went to a party & saw 2010 in with some friends...it was a good night. :) Hope everyone's celebrations for the holiday season were enjoyable and hope you all got what you wanted! The post Christmas sales are now on and I've started my usual January purchasing of DVDs & games. So far I picked up Dead Like Me season 1, One Tree Hill season 5, Rockband (xbox 360), Gavin & Stacey (seasons 1-3 + the Christmas special), The Proposal and Skate 2. Not quite as much as last year when I couldn't get through the door because of the parcels, but all the things I wanted. :) Have you started Sale shopping? Bought anything nice? I'm heading off now to Guitar Hero a bit more...wish me luck :) Newbie x

Hola All, Been a while, I haven't been able to come up with a blog, but I need something new on my profile page sooooo, here goes nothing!! First up, let's address the blog title. Addiction Hi, My name is Lindsey [Hi Lindsey] and I'm addicted to...online poker. Not the real type of online poker you understand...nothing that would actually lose (or win) me some money. The fake kind. The facebook / myspace/ pogo kind. Yep, I keep getting bored and all of a sudden I find myself playing poker. I've got pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, coming out of my ears. Poker chips everywhere. I win some, I lose some. I'm thoroughly enjoying myself!! Single games, weekly tournaments, regular tournaments...I've done 'em all. Must...control...urge....to....play. Disclaimer: Poker is bad, ya hear me? If you're going to play, play for fake money. Real money = bad. You will lose it all. I will not be responsible for the loss of houses, cars and sheep. No siree. You have been warned. Other Activites Soooo, now that my new addiction is out of the way, what else have I been doing with myself? Baking I'm going through a 'baked goods' phase. I saw cupcakes in a magazine and since then I have been trying to create something yummy looking. I keep failing. They look ok, but taste boring, or taste great but look boring. I shall succeed, eventually!! I do have some pictures, but they're on my phone which is three feet behind me and I'm too lazy to go get it...I'll upload some later. ;) (I did make some of these....they were pretty good....but these are not my cupcakes ;) ) TV After rewatching all five seasons of NCIS when I purchased them on sale, I turned my attention to The Pretender, which I got the four seasons & 2 movies of at a fairly decent price. I'm about a third of the way through season 4 now. I've laughed, I've cried, I've drooled over Jason Brooks. I'm very much enjoying myself!! To break up the seasons a little, I've also watched some Chuck, I'm pretty much up to date and still really enjoying it - I love Adam Baldwin more each week, he's great as Major Casey!! I'm considering starting up with House again. I haven't watched for a looooooong time - since it was just House, Cameron, Chase and Foreman - but Studog keeps talking about it & it's getting my interest up again - we'll see!! I've also rewatched a couple of movies: An Affair to Remember and Hackers - yes, I have a very varied watching schedule!! Learning I set up a free site & started teaching myself some PHP. I keep getting distracted by HTML, Databases, CSS, etc, and I haven't done any for a couple of weeks, but I'm quite enjoying having the webspace to just fool around with. I created my background & set it to repeat on all pages that I create using CSS, I created a registration script with a database behind it & I'm working on the login script - I was running into some problems (mainly that I couldn't log in...!!) so I'm taking a little break & I'll come back to it fresh and try again. For anyone who is interested in trying to learn a little more HTML or another programming language, I really recommend finding a free webhost & playing around - it's amazing how much you can teach yourself by just fooling around. The site that I have been using is GoFreeserve.com - I chose this one because it allows you to use PHP and provides free MySQL databases. If you're just looking for a place to practice HTML, there are lots more sites out there! Blogs & Stumbleupon When I get bored of everything mentioned above, I have a couple of other ways to keep myself entertained. If you have firefox, you can install an application called StumbleUpon which, based on categories that you choose, randomly "stumbles" you to a website within your set categories. It's a great way to find new sites which interest you, without relying on a search engine. With the click of one button you can be off to faraway lands...definitely worth a try when you're bored! This leads me onto the "blogs" part of this section. One of my categories for StumbleUpon is Cooking...so I'm often transported to cookery blogs. One, in particular, really stuck out for me and I often return even when I haven't stumbled to the blog. The blog in question is hosted at ThePioneerWoman.com. At first, I visited for the recipes, but now I just visit to read, because the author of the blog is very fun! I have also been known to stop by the Black Heels to Tractor Wheels section - ideal for anyone who likes romances. ;) Visitor's Input Congratulations for making it this far. We're almost done, but first, I need your input. I want to revamp my profile again - new banner, avatar, possibly signature. I like things to match, so I only really need one idea as a starting point, but I'm not sure where I want to take my profile this time. Here is where you come in...by providing ideas for my profile redecoration. The ideas can be absolutely anything - I'll take a look through and try to create something from the ideas you give me! Sooo, Greta poked my moss and told me it's time for a new blog, and I aim to please...so here goes with a complete round-up of, well, nothing at all. *Starts to randomly type* I have a new banner, avatar and signature. With added 'tude. Yup. She's making me all sassy and stuff. Sorry if I shout at you...the banner/avatar/signature made me do it. For those who are thinking "who is she?"...it's Pauley Perrette, who has suddenly thrown Miley Cyrus outta the way in the most popular person list here on TV.com - that's my girl, reach for the stars!! I work too much. Just sharing that with you. I work too much, I get paid too little, I'm stressed too often and people think I'm superwoman. Note to readers: I am not superwoman, damn it! (Nor am I Catwoman, Batman, Spiderman, Yogi Bear - although I am partial to stealing picnic boxes). Anywhooo, I work too much but I have the next two days off, giving me a 4 day weekend so...hoorah for the four day weekend! I have been shopping again. More DVDs last week and more books and a couple of games arrived today: (Not pictured: DVDS - Homicide Life on the Street: Season 6, Gilmore Girls seasons 2-4, Profit and my previously bought NCIS seasons 1-5 and Rear Window. Games - The Orange Box, Lost and Beautiful Katamari. Books - A couple more Patricia Cornwell ones that arrived last week and Whitewash by Alex Kava that I picked up at the supermarket on Monday) What? I like 'stuff'. ;) Yup, so twice in a week I haven't been able to get through my front door when I got home because the parcels were in the way. I'm amazed that the postwoman managed to get them through the letterbox (mailbox...whatever, I'm British, shoot me....there's the 'tude again). :D Hmmm, what else? I bought a coffee machine over the weekend. Yum yum. Tastes oh so good. I no longer have to be jealous of...everyone with coffee machines. I have been dieting for a month. I have lost 9lbs thus far. My healthy eating has been punctuated by videos from Discovery Channel's National Body Challenge (e.g. Warmup, Cardio Challenge (that one is fun...I like punching), Cool Down). Fun stuff. As some of you have read from Danbambridge's blog, it's cold in the UK currently. We've been snow free today where I am, but we're due to get snow again tonight/tomorrow/friday with temps dropping to -7c (which is collllld for the UK). ;) I think that's all I have to share with you, so if anyone needs me...I'll be snuggled under my blankey with a nice hot cup of coffee. Hi All, It's been a couple of months so I figured it was probably about time for a new blog. Had a busy October/Early November at work, having to travel a lot, so I've been struggling to sit down and make myself blog! But here we are, so excuse me while I ramble on a little about my last couple of months! Let's split it into categories so that it's a little easier to read! TV (No spoilers, I promise): Let's see, what have I been watching in the last couple of months? I'm into Chuck in a big way lately. It's a really fun show, weird concept but I love it. I would probably just repeat everything I said in my review for the show, so I won't bore you, but it's a really great show - excitement, espionage and just good all round entertainment! I just received the Season 1 DVDs in the mail and although I only watched season 1 within the last couple of months, I'm really loving watching it again. Check it out if you haven't already! Next up, I've been watching lots of The L Word. I've watched many episodes of the show over the past few years, but as I was never a steady watcher (watched when I noticed it on), I got the storylines all jumbled up - I'd watch a S5 ep, then an S1 ep...etc. I've started from the beginning and I'm seeing the show in a new light now. I'm up to the 5th episode of season 3 so far (I think). I'm spoiled in the sense that I know how the season ends because that was one of the episodes I saw previously, but it's nice to now see the run-up to it. This one is not going to be a show for everyone like Chuck, but if you like a bit of relationship drama & some laughs, give it a try. I've also been watching Samantha Who. I wasn't sure I'd like this one, but I'm actually really enjoying it! The episodes are only 30 minutes long, so they're nice and short for when I just feel like watching something before bed. I love the storyline - girl gets amnesia, finds out about the old her & tries to change herself. I would fit this one into the same kind of category as Chuck. In 30 years, I'm sure people won't really remember either of the shows - they're really fun shows now, but I doubt they'll last a whole lot of seasons (unfortunately) and they won't ever be a c.lassic, but in the here and now they're great entertainment and I love 'em! Gaming: A few months ago at work, I was awarded with a 150 pound prize for...I don't know, not being sarcastic for a day probably. ;) I could either claim a gift worth 150 pounds (in their opinion, in mine the gifts were worth 50 pounds and were being tagged as 150 pounds ;) ) or I could get vouchers. I left the balance on the reward site for a while because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, but in recent weeks I started to get back into gaming again. I had a PS2 previously, but it just wasn't doing it for me as much anymore, so I decided I wanted an XBox. Drew out my vouchers a couple of weeks back and purchased a shiny new Xbox. Tis very purty sitting in the middle of my floor. :lol: I'm still getting the hang of the controls (keep forgetting which button is RB...Game tells me to press RB and I press the wrong button & it screams at me. :D ) but I'm getting there!! Went on a little game-buying spree, but with Christmas upon us I've been banned from buying myself anything else, so for anyone interested, here is my current collection which will hopefully expand on Dec 25. ;) Project Gotham Racing 4 (came with the console) Sega Superstars Tennis (came with the console) The Simpsons Game Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Skate. Thank you to the "old" mods for their advice & assistance while us "young" ( ;) ) mods learnt the ropes...much appreciated! Other internet life stuff? Hmm, still playing away on Pogo, earning my weekly badges, still stumbling around the world wide web occasionally.
