Character Wonderland #1 - Squall

Game of Origin: Final Fantasy VIII
Role: Main character
His Background: Squall is a lone wolf who is a student at Balamb Garden, a military "college-like" that trains people to become SeeDs who eventually will defeat some weird sorcerer. His weapon is called "Gunblade", a mix of sword and gun!
Why I like the character: Squall is one of those character that or you love or you hate. He's really dry, not sociable, don't like to talk and is always lost in his thoughts. He has a rival, Seifer (who carries also a Gunblade). One of the things I like most about this character is that he is deeply developed. Throughout the game you read all his mind, all his thoughts... and some are quite funny ("I dreamt I was a moron" - Squall talking about Laguna's dream). He doesn't like to depend on others; even when Rinoa (the girl he ends up opening up after all) is injuried and they take her to another country, he instead sneak in first and carries her on his back all the way through the country... touching! Another thing I like is his body language... hahaha I remember the guy at Timber Maniacs talking forever and Squall putting his hand on his face like "Man this guy is going on forever! Shut Up!". Despite being sometimes unpolite and rude, still he is not a "bad guy" - he is never after fights like Seifer, for example. All he wants is to be on hes own.
His necklace is really cool! My friend Veruska gave one as b-day gift... =). I also have a keychain gunblade...
Nonethless, he remains one of my favorite characters as whole: great development, real personality, fancy clothes and weapons...

Here I come again with some babblings. It seems vacation time is over for everyone, and now the only thing left to do is to avaliate what happened.
I should say I'm glad vacation time is over (not glad about summer going away though - I hate snow). I worked 40 hours a week and also had my young brother Alexandre coming to definately live with me, since I'm his guardian. The greatest thing that happened, I should say. However, besides working, I had to do a lot more stuff at home; when I was alone I didn't make such a mess! My brother still doesn't do things to help me out - like for example, washing his own dishes. The fact is that I spend my lunch time preparing our lunch and taking care of the kitchen... I'm also having a lot more of "work out" going by bicycle to Dillons to buy food... because he's a teenager, he eats the double of what I eat... (which reminds me of the fact that sometimes I want to grab some snacks and they are all gone by the powers of his hungry belly... XD).

So what was supposed to be a vacation actually turned out to be quite tiring.
I'm so ready for school to start. This semester I'm taking 2 computer programming classes and two general requirements (Public Speaking and Principles of Geography).

Obviously, I have a week of vacation left to use... but honestly, I can't think of something to do with it. I don't know how to drive, so I basically can't be going anywhere else, which is a pain. I wanted to go back to Brasil for vacation this summer (theirs) but it seems that I'm not going to be able anymore since Ale is here. There's also my middle brother, Leandro, who is thinking of coming to live here again and work for some years, then going back to Rio again.

Seriously, I can't wait to get my college degree and go back to Brasil. I still want to live in Sao Paulo...

Talking about games now, I'm almost done with Fire Emblem: SS. I'm at chapter 16th and man, Seth is one of the most overpower guys I've ever had in a game! Just put him on the front and everyone is gone (and everyone else's exp points, too. Which is bad, really bad). Another character I love deeply is my mage Saleh... he's my favorite character in the battlefield. Eirika is not bad but she can't move as far as some other characters... sometimes it takes me an eternity to take her to seize the throne. I also like my berserker Gilliam! I've lost a lot of characters throughout the missions... which makes me want to finish it soon to restart again on extra mode and try to get the rest of 'em.

I think that's it for now... I think I should put some photos around, to make this journal a little bit more decent... oh well.

Siblings and YOUR videogames

Well what can I say? My younger brother is now living with me, and the first thing he did was to get close to my Playstation 2. Then, I was playing Xenogears (a game you probably know how long it takes to finish) and being kicked out by him so he could play. So, thats the reason I bought my GBA, so that I could play something else while he was at my PS2. Guess what? He stops playing PS2 to get my GBA! I'm sooo frustrated! C'mon, I already gave him free time with my PS2 now he comes to get my GBA? Bah!

Rantings aside, I decided to get FF Dawn of Souls... I just scanned the game... watched the FFI intro, and all I can say is that it really looks like well done! Those shinny cristals! A huge difference from NES version! And it is essencially the same as FF Origins for PS (which I din't have the opportunity to get).

Into Game Boy Advance!

So I finally decided to get me a portable videogame (PS: Thanks to Donna who took me to a nearby Walmart =). And since I'm short on funds, I just grabbed a cheap Game Boy Advance! And also got Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. What can I tell? I just finish off my work and go home and play and play and play (ok I remember I gotta cook for my brother in between plays XD). The game is awesome. This is the only kind of strategy games I like; I also found it amazing that death stuff, in which we cannot ressurect anyone, once they are gone, they are gone for good! Now that I can't get away from my GBA, I'm also considering playing... tada.... Final Fantasy I & II (hahaha that was obvious~!).
By the way my GBA is black. It rocks!

Xenogears Perfect Works ~The Real Thing~

I DID IT! I just got my copy on Ebay, thanks be to God! Funny, this is only my second time at Ebay trying to get what I want. The first I lost (it was both Lunar 1 and 2). But I think I learned the "tricks" and "dirty" people do to make us angry... haha. I've spent quite some money but I got the Xenogears "bible" (even though it is in Japanese, it is still worthy just for the pictures). I can't wait until I receive my book! I'm also trying to buy Xenosaga Official Design Materials. It is not as great as PW, but still it has a lot of artworks of the game.
I wonder if they will ever release one for Xenosaga 2? But since the game wasn't that good...
Also concerning Xeno series... I hope we get some news about Episode 3 — hopefully they are gonna make it!

Well... I'm happy ^___^

Subject: Mage Knight!

Does any of you guys/gals play Wizkids' Mage Knight? If you do, please tell me! I'm just starting to play it! And I like collecting them! I know they changed their rules, now it's 2.0...

Well I guess that's just it by now! My brother has many MK from the old sets... And as far as I know, they are all compatible, except at official tournaments.

Any Kansans playing it?? =)

It's actually my vacation time BUT I'm actually babysitting! Hehehe. And watching my young brother playing Star Ocean 3. Man, sometimes it is so boring! The characters gotta walk all their way thru the map! Those infinte fields! "Till the end of time"!! Hahaha.

Anyways. I'm trying to play FFX-2 again... let's see if this time I have the guts to finish this game!

About a Trading Card Game

Hey you guys, I was wondering if any of you are collecting the card game "Knights of the Zodiac" (Saint Seiya). I'm missing quite a few to partially finish my collection (I'm praying Bandai is going to release new decks! Hope is the last to die! [but the first to faint...]). Anyways, here's the missing ones:
