I've been tricked into viewing "Oban Star Racers."

Saw two (2) good movies (for SciFi Originals) on SciFi channel on Saturday night. Monster Ark and Riddles of the Sphinx.

Hope to see this, mainly for DeLuise's appearance.

Isn't she hot! And so dang sweet too. Surprisingly, I found her annoying in the past.

You are being sold out!

WARNING: POLITICAL CONTENT

Answer me this:

Why are both Presidential candidates, the President, and most of the Democrats in Congress willing to sell out the American economy?

You gets a million dollars if you answer correctly.

Info Tidbits:

• The Treasury Secretary is authorized to purchase up to $700 billion in mortgage-related assets at any one time. That means $700 billion is only the very beginning of what will hit us.

• Financial institutions are "designated as financial agents of the Government." This is the New Deal to end all New Deals.

• Then there's this: "Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency." Translation: the Secretary can buy up whatever junk debt he wants to, burden the American people with it, and be subject to no one in the process.

I thought these people were supposed to be good with money. :?

Apocalypse: "I am the rocks of the eternal shore. Crash against me and be broken!"

X-MEN

Time In THE COFFIN

Gots to say I'm liking Death Magnetic. In addition to the radio singles I had already heard, the rest ain't bad. And with most tracks over 6 minutes in length it is quite the album.

Some short select track reviews:

1. THAT WAS JUST YOUR LIFE Starts off eerily, definitely feels like the proper first track of an album called Death Magnetic. Great start, remembering why I love this genre and band.

3. BROKEN, BEAT & SCARRED Heard it on the radio a week ago, had to hear it twice, I'm sold.

4. THE DAY THAT NEVER COMES Cl@ssic soft start and hits you in the gut 1/3 in. Great Hammett solo. I've been humming it every day since I heard it.

6. CYANIDE Catchy chorus, not always a bad thing. I find myself singing this and #4.

7. THE UNFORGIVEN III Not the horrible tripe I heard it might be. The lyrics are weak, but the rest rocks! By any other name it might have flown under the radar and been a fine filler song.

9. SUICIDE & REDEMPTION The old-school token intrumental, a little softer than the others (Call of Ktulu, Orion, To Live Is To Die) but good.

Some pics of my exploits last week. Mine is the 50/50 on the left, the other is my dad's. My dad used the Walther PPK (.380 Auto) Left and I used the Springfield XD (9 mm Luger) Right.

Just Some Recent Updates

Me and dad took the South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit class Monday. Pretty informative, mostly on laws of the state pertaining to handguns mostly, but also self-defense laws in general. About 6 hours of class and 1 hour of shooting. Pretty fun too.

The permit actually comes with more responsibility than anything else. Although it is nice to be able to carry in SC State Parks (illegal to have a handgun there otherwise) and SC Interstate Highway Rest Areas.

I've discovered the re-runs of X-Men on Jetix (Toon Disney). I loved this show when I was a kid. It is one of the best comic book based cartoons ever, IMO. Yeah the animation isn't that great by today's standards, but the storytelling is top-notch.

Only problem is that it comes on at 1:00 and 2:30 AM. :(

This is one of the few cartoons from my childhood that I can still watch with great interest today as an adult.

Got notice Tuesday that Death Magnetic has shipped from Amazon! :D I also almost won a copy from the local radio station (I was caller #7, #13 wins).

In preparation for this I am seriously considering upgrading my truck's factory speakers. They've about had it anyways. Then I start looking at powered subwoofers and of course, head units. So I just have to control myself. I want to buy quality so I don't need to replace them later. But I can't spend a whole lotta money.

I'm probably going to buy from Crutchfield.com and I like the Infinity speakers and the MTX Thunderlink bass. I could add the bass later so that is not urgent, but it would be nice to do the installs together.

I'm getting restless and I may go see what jobs the local GameStop has available as a stopover job. I don't care to go back to retail, but I might be able to stand it being around games. Even though I'm not really up on ALL the new stuff.

I had some spyware cookies on my computer and today my browsers were almost useless. Firefox would not even show the URL or my bookmarks menu at the top of the window. Ran my anti-virus (hadn't scanned in a month :?) and found the suspects. Now it runs MUCH better!

I worry though that some info might have been compromised. I used a credit card once and logged on a few websites. I don't think the bugs were very high risk, I hope.

V: ...If you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent.

V for Vendetta

First day of the rest of my life.

Last night I pre-ordered my copy of Metallica's new album Death Magnetic. :):)

I don't really care for the title, no problem. In general, I like the singles that have been released. And seeing that I pretty much have every Metallica album, and listen to them about 60% of the time, I knew I needed to go ahead and pick it up on Amazon.

Plus I got it for only $9.99, not bad. Of course there is the Free Shipping if you order at least $25 of merch. Would be $3 of shipping otherwise.

So I picked up an album I had come across last year called Sword's Song by Battlelore. They are a 'Tolkien Metal Band' or fantasy metal. Whatever. :) I've only heard a sample of the 1st song on the album called 'Sons of Riddermark.' It sounds awesome.

GAMING NEWS

I've resumed my attack of Forza Motorsport on the XBOX. I've almost wrapped up the Arcade portion, with only the full Nurburgring track to complete. I've been using my little souped-up Audi TT (D1) on most of the tracks. And after suffering badly on the "Blue Mountains Raceway" I grudgingly turned on the Suggested Line feature. Not sure if that effects my rewards after winning a race in Arcade mode, but it sure does help with my braking points.

My favorite track so far has been the "Maple Grove Raceway" in Series 8. It was great fun and I had a bit of bad luck at the beginning and spent 3 of the 4 laps tracking down the leader. Really satisfying. I did the same on the 4 lap race on the Rio De Janeiro track and I caught the leader on the next to last turn before the finish.

Of course, the Nurburgring is the mack-daddy. At just over 13 miles and 2 laps it will be a challenging race and require much concentration. Sounds like Yoda. :D

Later.

I'm in need of a new banner and blog header.

Is there some kind soul who will take pity on this Photoshop deprived blogger? What can you do with these?

And if you want to throw in a matching avatar and sig, feel free. :D

Avenged Sevenfold reminds me of old Metallica. Just that they can make an 8 minute epic very interesting and very cl@ssical orchestra sounding. Haven't gotten their 'new' album but loved "City of Evil."

Oh yeah, now I remember. I like Rhythmic Gymnastics. I know it's sad, but there is just something about it that is enthralling. Especially that ribbon thing, it's like being hypnotized. Very relaxing.

Don't judge me.

Copy Red Leader. Move Out!

Finally tested out the internet connection on my PS2. Yeah yeah it's a little late, whatever. :P

I only have a few games that are Online Enabled, but only 1 good one, SOCOM II.

Unfortunately, I picked a bad time to hook it up, as we had just exceeded the 'Fair Use Policy' of our satellite internet provider. :/ Which pretty much means worse than dial-up speeds.

I figured it wouldn't be too bad, I mean it's just a PS2, right. Heck, almost as soon as I hooked it up I had to download a 'patch' for SOCOM. Yeah, that pretty much locked it up.

Oh well, maybe I'll try some other time. And BTW there were 776 playing across NA but no where else. Not bad for such an old game, bah I didn't have a headset anyways. :)

WRITHING ANGER Section

Damn you Scifi, NBC, and MGM. You bunch of...no I shouldn't say that. Right, so, Stargate Atlantis has been cancelled. It will wrap up it's 5th season on the Scifi channel this Fall and then have at least one 2-hour television movie with possibly more to follow. Arrrggh, what is going on? I guess I shouldn't be too upset, they did have 5 great seasons.

Battlestar Galactica had the right idea, cancel yourself with grace before the IDIOTs at the head office have anything to say about. And end on your own terms.

Although there is supposed to be a 3rd Stargate franchise television series called Stargate Universe. I have to second what one post on Gateworld.net wrote, Producers of Stargate franchise: FIND A NEW NETWORK. Because Scifi is only good at dropping series ending bombshells when a show is moving along just fine with a dedicated and deep cult following.

Get over yourself Scifi [the network]!! Like you are carrying some kind of Emmy winning lineup. Stargate and BSG have made you! Your 'bread and butter' if you will. Well guess what you just threw out your bread and your butter is melting. Have fun with it.

We're going swimmin' in the river!

Get to buy some electronics soon.

My dad wants a new camera, and he needs one too. He is set on a Sony and he looked at a few at the local Office Depot. He looked at the Cybershot W120 and W150. Not much difference except 1 more MP, 2x more optical zoom, and $50 more. I think it's definitely worth it for the extra optical zoom. And this week it's on sale for $220 ($30 off) from Staples. :)

Also, we're needing to get a print server since dad has a new laptop (Sony as well) and he doesn't care to have to hook his laptop up to the printer everytime he needs to print something. I like the D-Link DPR 1260. It can network up to 4 printers via USB and act as a wireless access point.

What does "We're going swimming in the river" refer to anyways. Surely that is some movie. IDK

And Phelps is a freaking Borg, Replicator, or whatever. Sure he looks human, but I have my doubts.
