This game is a disgrace to the Final Fantasy name. The characters are boring, the story makes no sense and now the game is chock full of fan service and ads for other SE games. Meanwhile Bravely Default is doing an amazing job of being the proper successor to Final Fantasy.
If you want a good JRPG get Bravely Default and don't support this game. Maybe then SE will pull their heads out of the gutter and make proper RPGs again.
@faizanhd I was thinking the same thing. A lot of people blasting LoZ for being a kiddy game when it requires more puzzle solving than a cinematic shooter like TLOU.
Watching the massive raging at Game of the Year announcement was hilarious imo. The Last of Us is way overrated, not saying it's a bad game it's just not as great as everyone screams out it is. I'm glad GotY was given to a handheld for a change, these types of games deserve more recognition.
btw I bet Johnny is a cult member, and his favorite sacrificial animal is Toast. Try denying that Gamespot!
As usual on this particular topic, some people are actually justifying and/or denying sexism. The video clearly states the developer did indeed receive sexist emails and tweets. Exactly which part of this is made up or excuses? The gaming industry and community will never move forward as long as this backward way of thinking exists.
Great episode Danny! I'll definitely check out the game, but as someone who got burned by depression before I sometimes hesitate with these types of games for fear I may relieve memories from that difficult time.
Why do video games seem more memorable to nostalgic than other types media? That's simple, the more senses are engaged in an activity the more we remember it. I'm much more likely to forget and re-read/re-watch an old book or movie than I would a video game.
As for feeling nostalgic for older games. Strictly in my opinion, most (not all) games nowadays suck, for a lot of reasons. For the most part it's probably because I've grown older and now have a much higher level of standards for me to enjoy a game, but back then I could literally walk into a store, buy any random game and go home and enjoy it. Now I consider and reconsider buying a game several times before I actually do buy it for fear it will be a complete waste of money.
