@no_fear_in_hell What is a RPG game without a story? Nothing, People are just lazy, they like games that are predictable or a main plot that can be understood by a 3 years old child. I loved the Game of thrones game for it's amazing story and twists and and it was amazing, I didn't even watched or read any books. When I've started playing The witcher I didn't knew about the books but after finishing the first game and seen that the story was great I started to read the books, then played the second, now I want more.
@jinzo9988 To sum it up TW story is a more mature story you aren't a hero but a monster hunter a freak which does hes best to surive. TW story is far superior to ME story, don't ge tme wrong I love the ME series but TW is a great experience when you start to understand it. It is for a mature audience.
@myungish they didn't they are working on TW3 and this game..I saw some time ago a news here on Gamespot in which it was conirmed that they are working on a new witcher title, probably TW3 and an unknown title which is this one.
@jinzo9988 well CDPR was afraid of this and they still did it wrong. Most of us loved The Witcher 2 because we played the first one. The story is hard to grasp when you don't know how or wtf is going on or better said how did I end up here. Most of the rpg games i like are because of the story and that is why I am bored and don't care about SKyrim which has a bad story. As for Geralt's "don't give a ****" expression, it is because he is a Witcher and witchers don't involve in politics. As for him beeing at Foltest side well You need to play the first to understand why. The plot is controversial and is complicated again if you don't know a thing about the witcher lore. In my opinion introducing the console players and new players directly with the second game which doesn't explain much about what happened in the past is bad. PC players can try the first one which is different except the story which again starts controversially, because it continues the story from the last book in which Geralt died, in the second game you will see some explanations. The main plot is hard to grasp because of the many subplots and controversial story. ME story is easy because you have a more liniar explanation or main plot |You are Shepard and you need to save the universe(still the end f*** up most of the lore but what the hey). In the witcher universe you have a larger target or more targets , find Yennefer (your lost love) and find out what the f*** happened to you, find the Wild Hunt and what it wants, you will get entangled in politics with twists, wars in which humans fight each other or against nonhumans (the Scoia'tael) , you are still a monster hunter so you kill monsters. He is forced at this point to choose a side and witchers don't get involved in conflicts so he is forced to do it. Sorry for the long reply.
@RYPER I don't know how did they dumbed down anything. Ya ya less playtime, less chapters, the ui was kinda strange but the story still was great, kinda hard to grasp if you didn't play the first or/and read some of the books. This "dumbed" down thing isn't valid in TW series. Both games had their ups and downs. The second was different not dumbed down. As for ME series I loved all 3 games except for the ending which killed every damned thing. Played TW1 (a lot of playtime but the fighting became dull at one point, just upgrade the igni sign and you will be ok even on the hardest difficulties) 3 times from start to end, TW2 3 times now I am playing for the 4th time . If you want a great example of dumbed down game play DA2 same damned zone/places, dull quests, few customisation options, few spells and powers thats if you compare it with DA-O and so many bad things but still the story was ok and for me if the story is great I will like the game.
@PoofMaester Metro 2033 was developed in Europe , The Witcher 2 , Stalker, AC was partial developed in Europe and those games had the best graphics at their time ;)...It has nothing to do with the zones in which the games are developed. On the other hand the engine is the main problem.
Well we pc gamers have a lot of F2P fps games. They just wanted to make something that it's kind of new for a console. The only thing is that EVE is only on the PC and I doubt that they can make it for ps3 too because it is a complex game.
