24, Syphon Filter and Robots In Disguise

Once again 24 provided another superb episode last night.  It was good that the writers didn't drag out the whole storyline with Audrey and it was resolved rather quickly.  Based on last night's ending it seems like the terrorists plan to douse Los Angeles with nerve gas was once again foiled by Jack.  I'm assuming the rest of the episodes for this season will revolve around who in the government is involved in the attack.  My money is on the Vice President but I have a feeling that it may not be.

I've been playing Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror for the PSP and if anyone has a PSP they should definately check the game out.  Its a ton of fun and is by far the best PSP game on the market.  I was thinking that if there was another 24 game to be release maybe Sony should have the developers of Syphon Filter, Sony Bend, develop the next 24 game.  The team at Sony Bend definately knows how to handle a terrorist themed storyline and provide exciting action. All Sony Bend would have to do is just add a few more gameplay elements like hand to hand combat, driving and some mini-games and those elements along Syphon Filter's excellent shooting controls would make an excellent game.  Chances are that there probaly won't be another 24 game due to how bad the PS2 version is.

Just like other people I'm a fan of the Transformers.  I personally grew up watching Beast Machines and Beast Machines but I dig the old school Transformers.  As some may know Steven Spielberg is producing the Michael Bay directed Transformers movie.  Now the movie is supposed to be live action with the Transformers being CG.  The film is suppose to come out next July so casting of the film is starting.  Rumors have it that Shia Labouf is set to star as the hero for the film.  Shia has played the annoying sidekick in films like I, Robot and Constantine.  I'm really pissed off about this.  I don't want to see his punk a$$, I want to see Optimus Prime transforming into a truck and fighting Megatron.  No reviews about the script have been leaked so maybe Shia's character has limited screen time.  Well thats it for now as I need to check if my copy of Kingdom Hearts 2 has arrived, until next time.

V for Vendetta

I saw V for Vendetta today and its by far the best movie I've seen this year.  The acting was superb and the story of the film was excellenct.  The situations in the film seem plausible because there are people like the Chancellor in V in real life.  I don't know why people think this promotes terrorism because V is fighting against a government that planted a virus on its own people, rounded up all gay people into camps and killed them, and censors the media.  In the movie you understand V's actions based on what he went through and whats happening the world.  I would recommend the movie because its an excellent film and presents good things to question.  One thing to note is that the film does contain a few action scenes but they are very short and the film is not an action movie.  Overall V for Vendetta gets a 10 out of 10.

Gamespot article

When I checked out the article about the 10 best rythm games I was very surprised to see my statement about Parappa the Rapper made the list.   While my statement about the game may be short, its just cool that it was one of the ones that was chosen.  To check it out click here.

Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror review

I just posted my review for Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror for the PSP.  Dark Mirror in my view is the best PSP game out there in terms of content and technical features.  The game simply is a lot of fun to play and looks amazing.  I'm a big fan of Syphon Filter since it was released on the PS1 so its nice to see the series back on track.  I will probaly add more to my review the more I play but for the time being check it out and I hope everyone likes it and recommend the review if you like it.  Thanks.

Robocop must DIE!

Yup I said it, but Robocop has to die.  Now you may be wondering what the hell I'm talking about so let me explain.  The actor who played Robocop in the first two films, Peter Weller, is in the new season of the show 24.  In the show Mr. Weller plays a character named Henderson.  Henderson is responsible for recruiting Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) into the agency.  To get to the point Henderson has become a bad guy and has something to do with a terroist attack involving nerve gas.  Jack then brings Henderson to C.T.U for interrogation.  In last nights espisode Henderson killed Tony Almeida who was played by Carlos Bernard.  Tony was one of the original characters from season 1 and it was a shock to see him die.

Tony was an awesome character but wasn't in the new season that much.  In the first episode his wife is killed in a car bomb and he is then injured from a second explosion while holding her dead body.  One thing that bothered me was how Tony died.  Tony was about to kill Henderson since he held him responsible for the death of his wife.  Tony decides not to go through with it but then Henderson snaps out of his chemically induced coma and stabs Tony.  Now this shows two intersting things, one is that Henderson is even harder than Jack in terms of how much of a badass he is and secondly it shows that Henderson is a ruthless jackass.

A reason that I liked Tony as a character is because he just acted cool and was second next to Jack in terms of being a badass.  Another reason is that actor Carlos Bernard is from my hometown of Chicago.  An intersting thing is that Mr. Bernard was able to sneak in a Chicago Cubs coffee mug into some scenes including a scene in the first episode of this season.

Watching Tony die last night actually made me sad and really mad.  I've never gotten so upset over a show before.  I will still watch 24, but if they kill off Curtis then I'm going to be really pissed.  There is only one solution for what happened and that is for Jack to kill Henderson in a very brutal way such as a beheading.  I don't want Jack to just shoot Henderson, he has to pay for what he has done.  Simply put, Robocop has to die.

On a side note the actor playing the man who was torturing Henderson also plays the character Keller in the game Black.

God of War 2

In the upcoming April issue of Game Informer magazine, God of War 2 is featured.  Now I personally haven't gotten my issue in the mail yet but based on these pics, the game is looking sharp.  Based on the pictures it seems like Kratos is once again the hero, so he may be going after his dad Zeus. The graphics look really good and the pictures showcase new designs for some past enemies.  Hopefully the article about the game will offer some good details and more info about God of War 2 will be released shortly.

Beast Machines: Transformers

Last week I received my copy of Beast Machine: Transformers the complete series in the mail and I finished watching the series yesterday. For those unfamiliar with the show, Beast Machines is the follow up to Beast Wars.  Beast Wars was the new version of the Transformers and featured the Maximals and Predicons fighting on prehistoric Earth in the form of animals, dinosaurs and insects.  Beast Machines picks up from the conclusion of Beast Wars as the Maximals find their home, Cybertron, taken over by their nemesis Megatron.

A lot of the hardcore Beast Wars and original Transformers fans hated Beast Machines. Fans mostly hated the show for its darker tone and new stories.  I personally like the show and consider it to be better than Beast Wars.  Not only is the animation amazing, the stories, action, music, and production design is top notch.  The show is more serious and features a much more structured story.  The only gripe I have with the show was how the new Cybertron looked at the end.  Other than that small issue, I think that Beast Machines is an exceptional show both from a technical and story standpoint and doesn't get the credit it deserves.

24 Review

This has been a busy week for me with my massive Black review and now I have my review for 24: The Game.  I'm a big fan of the show and was looking forward to the game but I just have mixed reactions to it.  While I like playing as Jack and blasting terrorists, the gameplay is greatly flawed. Even the story which is a key pillar to 24, is told poorly in the game.  I would have liked the game to be like Indigo Prophecy, which would have allowed for a more immersive experience. Well anyway check out my review and tell me what you think.

Black review

Everyone should check out my new review of the game Black.  Its a detailed look into one of the most highly anticipated games of 2006.  My review can be found here.  I also have a small favor to ask for anyone who reads this.  Please go to this review and not recommend it.  This user copied my review as his own and the approiate action has yet to be taken against him despite talking to the Mods.  This has really pissed me off since I put alot of effort into the review.  Anyway thats all I have to say so I hope everyone enjoys the review.

Union Delayed

Bad news is that the union will be delayed for awhile for technical reasons. I still plan on setting the union up and I'm very serious about it. I am sorry for any inconvenience caused by this delay. When I set the union up again I will offer the same positions to the people I orginally chose.  Once again sorry for the inconvenience.
