I know it's not the actual game, but still you're getting rewarded for killing as many people as possible, the exact opposite of what Hitman was always about. I guess there is some strategy here, as it looks like you are supposed to shoot all the guards and the mark in such a way that the bodies are never discovered and no one becomes alerted. I'm assuming that if you wait long enough and watch their movement patterns that will be possible.

So much killing... I don't know, this doesn't really look like Hitman of the past. All the trailers seem so focused on action, slaughtering people with axes, doing special cinematic kill sequences, what happened to sneaking, hiding in plain sight, the silent assassin? I know, I know, over the top kill sequences and lots of action is what people want nowadays, but personally I just want the Hitman I knew and loved. Death to Spies 3, don't sell out! :)

I would like to see more games like Test Drive, but I guess the market isn't that big. Seems like most people that want driving games that are more on the simulation side are mainly looking for pure racing rather than free roaming open worlds.

What's going on with Death to Spies 3? Because it's far less popular, I'm hoping that it will stick to the old gameplay, although if I recall it is supposed to be on consoles too which is a dangerous sign. No offense, but it's just the way it is.

Like people are saying, it's not just whether or not a game can turn a profit, it's also about how much profit. There are games that are different, and they make money, they just don't do revenues in the billions or hundreds of millions. There are smaller groups of gamers looking for specific games, and those games can and do make money, just not as much money. What is sad though, is when you see some of those beloved franchises from the past that are just whored out later for bigger profits, the big publishers just buy or already own the rights and they completely destroy the fundamentals that made that old game great and turn it into a clone whatever is popular now.

Open world exploration is cool, but it certainly has less meaning in a game focused on shooting, combat. For me the key question is will the openness allow us to approach combat situations/locations in different ways, rather than being tight corridor like areas. I have fond memories of replaying parts of Far Cry 1 and Crysis, trying different approaches, over and over.

@Veronity exactly, been saying that over and over. Gamers want the products so much, they end up being total wimps as consumers. :)

Kinda interesting when people talk about XP/rewards driving multiplayer. Years ago, with Battlefield 1, especially Desert Combat, people just played online over and over because it was fun and they liked it :).

@calum1984 I agree about those current Wii owners, many of them are not really gamers and will not be compelled to buy another console for a long time. They bought a Wii because of hype, or because everyone said it was great for kids, etc. The people I know that bought a Wii were gaga over it at the start and a few months later the thing is collecting dust. These people aren't into gaming enough to run out and buy the Wii 2. Funny thing is all the marketing work Nintendo did to convince the public it's great for kids now works against them in any attempts to get more of the serious gamer market.
