The thing is I don't know how strict it would be that a manager couldn't date an employee.
I mean, it's in the book, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily "enforced at all costs."
The corners of corporate policy are always cut in the actual establishment, the corporate policy is just there sometimes just to show that it "is a rule," whether or not it strictly has to be enforced or not.
For example, I can't see how it couldn't work out and I could still work there as long as it doesn't create work-place problems. Even if it is breaking the rule, but it doesn't cause an issue, I can't see how it couldn't be allowed.
