Ever since you find such animations "outdated" and judge games primarily based on graphics and found characters "man boys", you've been met with disdain from the communities whom you may not please well and got banned from some sites. If you want an advice, maybe you should be less negative about animations and more positive about them in the future. And what about being considerate to hard-working developers and animators who put a lot of effort on games, especially ones that you've judged based on animations that you don't like?

If you don't want to follow that advice and still want characters with real legs, I'll say this: have you completed any Western turn-based RPGs? Maybe The Banner Saga trilogy would attract you. The men have legs, but they are hand-drawn. If "hand-drawn"-looking animation doesn't interest you, what about others? If they don't interest you, what else are you expecting from RPGs, including JPRGs? Besides animation and graphics, what else interests you?

@rogn How do you think do graphics affect gameplay in any way? What about the other way around, i.e. gameplay affecting graphic? Can you explain your POV in expansive (if not full) detail please? Thanks.

BTW, your account "romn91" is now banned in GameFAQs.

You may want to look at minimal requirements and recommendations to decide whether a game is good for your laptop.

I wonder whether you'll enjoy visual novels. They are text-focused, and you'll see flat-dimensional artwork. However, they are also entertaining. Also, many of them don't waste too much power, like other more advanced games, gameplay-wise and graphics-wise.

@recloud If you grew out of open-world games, what are other types of games that you want to try out?

I am currently playing Super Metroid. I've never played a Metroid game before, so I'm playing it first. I'm uncertain whether to call it casual-friendly. The controls are decent-ish (if not okay-ish), but the wall jumping is damn too hard (well, for me). Also, it was made for SNES, the one before N64 and then Gamecube. The (mini-?)bosses are tougher to beat without using essential missiles (or bombs). (EDIT: Scratch that; I used up all the missiles in one mini-boss and got defeated by it.)

I can't say whether it's good or bad; I've not yet gone up to the final part of the game yet. However, I don't know whether I should play the NES Metroid or Metroid Prime next, and I can't tell whether each game of the series is damn hard or damn easy. Suggestions?

@rogn No offense, but I see you've met backlash in both sites. I don't know what you expect from an RPG game. However, negating FF4~FF6 (or FF7) and/or any other game you've not played based on especially graphics and more emphasis on story (i.e. judging by appearances) is not going to do you any favors.

Judging from your comments, I bet you like monsters/enemies to be visible on areas and a little more action. PM me if you like, but have you considered watching videos guiding you which FF game you would like to try out first? If the videos don't work for you, maybe you can post asking a question about what type of game you want to play instead of comments about FF games. That's a suggestion in case that you don't feel like doing so.

PM me if you like, but I'd rather have our conversation out (somewhat) publicly in the open.

Hey everyone. I noticed that the other user "Romn91" is posting similar topics at GameFAQs boards: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/community/Romn91

For instance, this one: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/932981-final-fantasy-xv/76866586

That one: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/932981-final-fantasy-xv/76830246

I hope the two are different people; otherwise, I'd be disappointed.

Umm.... would I switch from handheld to PC? Absolutely not.... but I might go from handheld to iOS ;)

Nonetheless, if from home console to PC, I might do if:

  1. Nintendo stops being more innovative and decides to make a console almost identical to PS4/XBOne (sans the Kinect or VR)
  2. I have a highly-paid job, which can help me afford a high-performance gaming PC
  3. Many AA (if not AAA) games are available on Linux or compatible with successor of Windows 10
  4. Many originally console-exclusive games are re-released (or remade) for PC
  5. Many more games that I want to play become PC-exclusive

Does anyone know countries where Fortnite isn't popular yet? I read that it's struggling in China. Unsure about Japan or South Korea, where PUBG is developed, methinks.

Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song. This game asks a player whether to open chests at the risk of being harmed by traps. Also, I can't recruit no more than five characters, making this game harder than SaGa Frontier, which I've not yet played. Stats-based levelling is unique, different from other EXP-based RPGs.
