Back By Popular Demand: My Blogs

Well, where to start? I am currently working at Gamecrazy, and it is my responisbility to stay updated with all of the coolest info when it comes to gaming. Go figure, I did that even before I worked there. I actually get to talk with a lot of cool guys that know more than me. I learn something everyday I walk into that place. There are even a few game developers that walk in and like to chat. Just the other day, a game developer from Sierra Entertainment came in, and we talked about the good ol' days when Kings Quest was popular. Anyway, I try to make it my priority to give what I can to the gaming community (more than just a Halo 3 demo, knowledge).

I am currently addicted to World of Warcraft, and am psyched for the new expansion pack coming out. I'll be taking a break soon, so that I can finish some of my console games. I'm finishing up some side quests from Vol. 2 of G.U. When Vol. 3 gets released, I'll finish that as soon as possible.

Now, for the juicy info. I'm gonna start up classes for next semester, but come spring semester, I'm taking a break from school. In a nutshell, my Dad used to be in the music business, and he likes to help do tracks for many musicians. One musician in particular just got a record deal, and wants my Dad to go on tour with him in Europe. Great news, my Dad is going to bring me along to help set up equipment and tune the instruments. Europe, I can't wait. I'll most likely have to take a long break from my job, or just quit altogether. But I'm sure many will agree, that this is one of those experiences you should never give up on.

Rebirth and the Wii

Whaddup everybody? I'm currently finishing up on .hack//G.U. Vol. 1 Rebirth. I'm psyched for Vol. 2 and just want to get everything set up for a good head-start. Teaching all the characters healing spells, getting the best equipment, and leveling everybody up to lv. 50 are some of the things I'm working on. Overall, Rebirth was a great introduction to this series. Story-wise and gameplay-wise. For those who haven't checked out the series, I highly recommend it. I'm sorry Juro, Niko, and any other Wii haters out there, but I haven't done a blog in awhile and I need to catch up with everything that has happened in my gaming life. I got a Wii for Christmas. I was excited. Unexpectedly, my whole family got addicted to it. They played Wii Sports for hours while I was impatiently waiting to play Twilight Princess. But still, that was awhile ago. Now all of my friends want to come over and play the Wii. I'm just sharing my love for the Wii. I'm looking forward to The Godfather: Blackhand Edition. Cause it is the first game that was actually rated better than the PS3 version of the same game. Once again, I'm sorry Juro, but I need to brag. Well, after my dryspell with my blogs, I hope to keep up with them and post about what's going on around here. Peace. :D

.hack//G.U.

To anyone who has played the first series and has seen videos for the second series, will know the countless amounts of improvement that have gone in to the series. First off, the graphics. They went from a cartoony anime style to a dark celshading style. This is an improvement, because it shows what has become of The World. With the PKs loose, killing random characters, it shows the gloom and darkness that has drowned the environment. Although the previous series had cute characters and funny characters, the new series is going for a more drastic approach of a "We need a hero!" type of motive. I like the new look. Also, the main character can use three different types of weapons, rather than just utilizing one class. The battle system has become more action based. More hack n' slash, and no more annoying menus. So you can have your head in the game. Also, the A.I. has improved. So you no longer have to always tell your companions what to do. They can think for themselves. There is also a system where you can attack an enemy before he sees you, and it adds a bonus to the players' stats, giving you the upperhand in battle. I'm psyched for this new game, and I just wanted to get my feelings for this game out. I'll admit, the old .hack was a little tedious, but this time, it pulls you in through an interesting plot that makes the old series look like a childrens' story. Basically, to anyone that reads this, I am suggesting that you take a deeper look into the new game, because it will definately be one of the last worthy titles for the PS2. Final Fantasy can wait, .hack will be a fantasy that won't be final. Oh yeah! :D

RPG Fest, here we come!!!

I probably say this everytime it happens, but those frequent RPG waves that I was talking about, I always seem to think that the RPG games that come out then are the best RPG games ever!!! But this year will be different, because this year, the RPG games WILL be the best RPG games EVER!!! Ahh, here I go again. Anyways, Tales of the Abyss, check. .hack//G.U., check. Rogue Galaxy, check. Mary Kate and Ashley's Beach Party, che . . ., wait what is that doing on my list. One second. *Erases game off of list* Heh heh, where was I, oh yes, Final Fantasy XII. This may be too bold to say, but does anyone else think that this series has been run into the ground multiple times. The peak of the series had to be a tie between VII and IX. The games that came after that really ruined it for me. I may be the only RPG fan that will say this but, NOT CHECK!!! DUN, DUN, DUNNN. Wow, another exciting blog from yours-truly, please state what you think of my rebellious actions.

My First Blog!

Wow, I've been on this site for a long time, and have never filled out a blog before. Oh well. Well what is there to say? I just graduated and am planning to go to my community college, so I can stay close to home and my friends. I love RPGs, what can I say, they're amazing. They do all the right things in all the right places. What I can't stand though is the constant waves of RPGs. All the good RPGs have to come out at the same time, so I have to gather up extra money to go out and buy them. Well, as long as there is competition, the waves won't stop. So, this was fun. Stay tuned for the next not-so exciting episode of, Fierce's Blogs!
