Hi, So im thinking to upgrade my gpuand myprocessor.. I have a GTX295 and a very old Due E8500 3.16 GHz... Im planning to get a GTX500 series and the i7processor, but I'm wondering do I have to get a new Motherboard to fit the i7 or its gonna fit right away? because I have an old motherboard 'nFORCE 680i SLI'. Im also Wondering do i have to get a new power supply to do those upgrades? or my 550 watt is enough?

1) you would need to basically replace everything your board isnt capable of taking core i7's, i5's or i3's
2) get a core i5 2500k or 3570k instead of a core i7 the core i7's actually preform worse in some games (varying on the one you buy and the game, and even when this isnt the case the difference is so small its irrelevant) while being alot cheaper.
3) if your going to get a gtx 500 series card the gtx 560 ti is the minimum i would settle for. as your 295 its still plenty powerful by todays standards.
4) if you can power a gtx 295 likely you can power a gtx single 560ti or better. but if i wuz you and walking down that road i would wait till the gtx 660 launches in a week or two and then go out shopping. it will be a little bit cheaper than if you were to act this very momment.
hope my advice helps :D
I know that my 295 isnt bad.. but i thought to upgrade it because im in china for vecation and everything is cheap here.. I wanna go for the i7 because its also pretty cheap here.. the question is, Can my 550 Watt PSU Handle an i7 + 500 series gpu?
