@mmtristan: There are so many other games that fit into the area. Final Fantasy was one of the last large games, with quality that was around.

they could easily did a spin off series, with the final fantasy name and had both going. frankly the market for this type of game seems saturated. Monster hunter had some mainstream success recently, so everyone jumped on the band wagon.

I have played some indie titles that are turn based, and while i do find them enjoyable, most lack the scale that the FF games had.

I can always go back and play the earlier titles I guess. but it sure is disappointing not getting anything new.

I do think they have some sort of spin off series that is turn based, I guess to replace FF. but the characters all looked to cutesy for me.
