Welcome to the new and exclusive journal of me, Ralph. Well let me start off by saying that I am in somewhat of a mixed emotion of school returning. Some of the high points will be that I will get to see my friends again, and share in one last final year at IP, and considering how great last year was, this year can only be better.
Some of the things I am not looking forward to is going to sleep early, trying to organize myself for college, and the annoyance of homework and getting a job. Alas, this all must be done. It will get done, and hopefully I can coordinate social activities with all that other crap.
Since this is a GameSpot journal, I am also going to talk about video games, because I love em, and you probably do too. Of course will school approaching, video game time will have to be cut down for awhile, but I guess I am willing to make that sacrifice, and believe me it will be a minimal sacrifice of time.
So a couple of weeks ago, I gave into Bill Gates and purchased myself an Xbox with my birthday money, and so far, I have to say it was an educated buy. The Xbox definately has better graphics than my GameCube, and looking at the game list, it also has better games. So with the purchase of the Xbox, of course I got Halo, which I've played before on various occassions, and I also got the follow up to a PC game which I adored and fancied, and that was Deus Ex: Invisible War.
Today, I finally beat the game with one of its four alternate endings, and well, I thought the game would definately have more of techno/city metropolis feeling, but instead, especially during the end, it felt more like a warzone. Now I know that that would play into the storyline, but I think it kind of disappointed me, especially after the feeling I got from the original game. Also I was a little disappointed about the sound. The soundtrack and music was much better in the original. Overall, Deus Ex: IR was still an incredible game, and I gave it a 8.1 rating. I might write a review, but I'm still thinking about it.
Well, going back off-topic again, tomorrow is the first day of school, sorta. It's senior orientation day, where grandpa gaffney basically rambles on, along with skinny boy and gq. I also get my schedule, so that'll be interesting to look at. Alright, well its time to go, hopefully I'll be writing in this thing alot!
