@illegal_peanut: yes, that may be the case. Xbox has only delivered a few solid games and relied heavily on gamepass games to carry the burden. But compare that to Playstation, and you can say the same. Playstation has been pretty much hot garbage the entire gen. The only system that delivered solid games was ironically Nintendo and their 10 year old hardware.
worst case scenario, it won't move the needle that much in terms of subscriptions, but at the same time will give many gamers pause next gen. This gen most gamers have invested in the playstation ecosystem. Next gen, there will be more gamers moving to the xbox platform, whether thats on PC or on xbox consoles.
@BKO3000: the question is why some games like hell blade 2 are judged different from these early access reviews games. Hell blade 2 will also be given constant updates and fixes, and be different game in a few months, let alone the 12 years it took to make the hot mess that was baldurs gate 3 serviceable.
These early access reviews are a scam. We can't even take these game releases seriously anymore, since games like baldurs gate 3 were technically in early release since like 2012.
So now publishers will all be slapping that early access label on all their releases. It's actually not a bad idea, since we can get better quality games in the end. Let's stop pretending that reviews mean anything at this point...games are always a work in progress. Giving some games a 6/10, and another a 10/10 goty when that second game was in early release for 10 years makes zero sense.
@itsnota2mer: they give us xbox fans so much, that I feel bad about it. It's not even about paid or not anymore, we gamepass subscribers are given an embarrassment of riches. It's gotten to a point where I'm questioning their business decisions. If getting rid of day one, means more profitable and sustainable xbox, I'm 100% all for it.
@rohanrocks88: nope, there's zero evidence foe that. The Playstation has been an utter disaster this gen, with very few or no games. 3rd party was the saving grace, but xbox completely blows Playstation out of the water with gamepass 3rd party games. It's not even a contest. The reality is, Playstation 5 is just sailing off the success of the ps4, and that's about it. As someone who owned a ps4, and sees no reason to buy a ps5, let alone a ps6.
great news, and im an xbox fan. My desire is for xbox to be healthy and profitable. While I love gamepass and willing to continue paying for it, its obvious that putting big games on there day and date is severely hurting sales. This would be an acceptable thing IF your gamepass subscriptions were growing. But just look...everyone is still jumping to the playstation, the system that has no games, and is terrible compared to xbox and the value that xbox provides. Yet people still prefer playstation, and don't see the point of gamepass. Its time to scale back gamepass.
What is the point of putting games like hi fi rush on gamepass, if nobody buys the game, and then an year later you shut down the studio?? A game like hi fi rush, a critical hit to boot. My suggestion is, be careful of what games you put on gamepass. Older games and some indies definitely make sense. Newer games, either provide a demo or a couple of levels to entice people to purchase the game instead.
@hardwenzen: I'll keep her, and be glad to keep her. The girls I like are real life, and it seems like you've been too far up the digital arse to tell the difference between reality and tifa anymore.
