bbkkristian Blog

System Wars has gotten to my head.

Before we start anything, I would like to say I HATE Laptops, I exited out of the browser because I barely touched the pad and accidentally clicked out, So this is the 2nd time rewriting this blog. :P

Before we start, this was supposed to be a "What Black Ops did right" blog, but I'm holding that off until I finish writing it on MS Word.

Okay, System Wars has been getting to my head. Before I noticed this, I found myself completely DESPISING the Playstation Vita, to the point at Failure. :| Once someone pointed it out, I had an epiphany. Before all those 3DS vs. Vita threads, I wanted the handheld! I went to the E3 special on Playstation Home and got to view the entire system and all of its features, yeah some are the same as the 3DS, but I think I can live peacefully with both as I have done last gen.

PS Vita

PSP 2.0? Possibly, but I'm willing to take that risk.

Before I got one, the Sony PlayStation Portable, I thought, was a terrible device being slautered by its evil stepbrother (or sister), the Nintendo DS. I was one of those haters. Until a certain game was announced, I had plans to actually buy the system. Once I got my PSP, I was astounded by all the features it held, music, video and pictures. Remember I got my PSP before my PS3 so this was all new to me. After playing a few games, I grew on the handheld. It was not until this game, where I fell in love with the electronic.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy

Dissidia: Final Fantasy, A must-have for any FF fan or anyone willing to try something Different

I found this game via Youtube, watching the Japanese version, with enhanced music and an unfamiliar battle system. I was intrigued immensely and I completely fell in love with the game once I got my hands on it. :) This game changed my view on my PSP. (One being the PSP should've belonged to Square Enix, because most of the brilliant games came from that thiird party :P )

What does my view on the PSP have to do with Playstation Vita?

Its the stone, to where I will build my "house" of hype. I am really psyched for the handheld but not the games. They seem really bland so far with Uncharted being the only one looking worthy of buying. After playing LittleBigPlanet on PS3, then on PSP was a real downfall, I mean, it was HORRIBLE :| and now for the leap from LBP2 to LBP Vita? I don't think so. As of now, buying the handheld for games is going to have to wait. I'll have to wait for a Square Enix game that is not an MMO (Not free to play = yuck, FFXI)

Final Fantasy XI

Tempting, but your not getting another $13 a month off of me.

So in all final thoughts, I will not be buying Vita on release. I will get the 3G version when some worthy games come out.

Planning Ahead and More Master Quest

If you've read my last blog, you know I've been really stumped on what to do with my life. Like many, Many, MANY others, I want to go into the Gaming industry but I'm doing something different than all... Most of those people and following through with their dream. I came to a conclusion this morning after finishing up the last episode of The Tester: Season 1. I'm going to call many third party companies and try to schedule an interview or even a job shadow opportunity with them. I noticed that there was a Square Enix company, Activision, and others that are in my state. :) And again, I am wanting to do Sales and Marketing for Video Games. My final epiphany that I might have mentioned in my last blog is that I have to start with small developers, which I'm fine with, if they succeed in their market, they could end up as the next Sony or Nintendo. :D

Now onto Video Games (actual games). I've been stuck on that darn Fire Temple on Zelda Master Quest for the past WEEK!! I finally got past it yesterday, knowing that the other 30% of the Temple was undiscovered, which totally threw me off! Now, unfortunately, I am on the most dreaded temple in the entire game.

*Water Temple Pic*

Curse you Water Temple, CURSE YOU!!

On other news, I just got Final Fantasy Dissidia 012 DLC! Yeah, who knew, DLC for PSP! :P JK. I got the Kingdom Hearts costume for Sephiroth, Yuna Gunner costume, and songs. :) Yeah, As soon as I go on vacation that has much better internet than my own home, I'll post a video on my Youtube page, for now there's some old Dissidia videos on there and a SSBB video too, marking my top time for Target Smash Lv 1 with Link! ;) Note the video quality is horrible, but its a 14 sec video, I think you can handle it. :P

Lightning

This exclusive costume is next one my list but I can only get it if I get The 3rd Birthday but the game looks good so I don't care. :P

I thank you for reading! Leave a comment and stay tuned for my next blog. :)

Gaming Field Profession, reality and fiction.

Hello friends :) Wonderful blog title no?,

I have been having countless thoughts on the future lately. Today on my last day of Health Class, my teacher asked us to raise our hand if we had our future career already planned out. I raised my hand, thinking "Video Game Industry." You're already thinking "Oh great, another one of THESE kind of dreams." :P

I've had this dream growing up ever since I could think about what I wanted to do in life, probably again like many of you, but after reading a specific thread on this exact website about how horrible that the industry really was and that the pay was not worth the time. My dream came to an end, I gave it up, and after 3 long years of indecisiveness about my career path, I've noticed that a degree in Business (economics, administration, etc.), I could end up almost Anywhere.

Is my dream an illusion

I'm feeling as if my future will be just an illusion, shadowing the failure I will endure.

That's when it hit me, just previously today, I brought back my dream of going into the Video Game Industry, but now its a little bit different. I would be getting degrees, majoring in Business Economics and minoring Business Administration (or possibly Game Development) so I can get into Sales and Marketing. That way if my countless applications into the gaming field fail, I can still get a casual job with basically infinite options on where.

I just downloaded the free series of The Tester, where Playstation has chosen 10 (or 11) individuals to compete for one job as a Sony Game Tester. I found that kind of depressing to see, where the thousand people that could've had potential and they only hire one person, I understand "they are looking for the best." but only one job, all those who fail might as well just go look for another company, you know? Well, I came to a conclusion that there are millions of companies out there, most of them start out with small projects like on Wiiware and they are all looking for fresh young creative faces so in return, more chance of a job and get to see a small company grow into a Sega.

On a side note, I have also considered getting into Journalism, specifically gaming. Yeah, the English department as you can see is not my critique, so I'm in for a very large rude awakening. :P But examples of this include GameSpot of course, :P Even though I think I got a few too many moderations (all warnings, don't worry) to get a job  , IGN and Game Informer. This career choice would be the most changing, changing my major, since I don't think a minor would get me the job. :P

In conclusion, I would say that I am very clueless about my future right now and I am up for any "Constructive Criticism" any of you have to offer, even if it does give me an epiphany. :P Are you in the same boat as me? Hit me up in the comments :)

3DS fun along with Master Quest impressions

My 3DS has been the center of my attention other than my dreaded Summer School. I've been showing family, watching them in terror how their Mii didn't come out the way they wanted (I don't blame them, I'll stick with the Mii I made thank you  ). I've gathered over 50 StreetPass Coins, spending them solely on "Find Mii." Those ghosts are terribly cheap :P I find the game very funny though, the warriors you hire are cute as can be and are very comical, when they cast a spell, they simply turn and walk away, feeling tired, leaving my character yet remaining in the dreaded cell in the castle. :P

Kitty

Go Kitty, go!!

Summer School's actually really fun aside from spending my summer getting ahead in School. I'm taking a Health Course, which is required to graduate. Meh, el stupido rulez!!! :P But yeah, so for the past Monday through Thursday, I've been spending my mornings at school. Fun fun.

I finally hit Master Quest on Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. This is my first time encountering the difficult version of my favorite game. Dungeons have the main difference, adding a completely new route to completing the labyrinth. And yes, when I say difficult, I mean difficult, you know the first temple, Inside the Deku Tree? Yeah I got stuck there. :P I call myself a Zelda fan... The mirrored version of Hyrule really can mess you up though, only in Hyrule Field thankfully. I find myself going to Gerudo Valley instead of Kakariko Village... Well, that's why I have my friend Epona. :)

Ghoma

Luckily, Queenie remains unaltered, making me feel smart defeating her after a couple days of being stuck on her dungeon.

I continue to play my DS games while I take my break from this wonderful masterpiece. Despite the blurryness of the games, the fun is still there. I started over in SoulSilver, getting rid of all my Pokemon. I don't mind, its not like I utilized the multiplayer aspect of the game anyways. :P And I also started over The World Ends With You, which the story is still a one-of-a-kind and its epic. No other word. :D

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July. Happy Birthday America! :) I went to my school for fireworks, which had an amazing show and I spent it with family and a few friends. The weather up here is really unpredictable. The meteorologists predicted the highest temperatures in my area and all sunny. Then Boom, clouds and humidity filled the sky and rain started to drop, making it a very unusual but fantastic 4th. :)

Edit for the partiotism! :P

Finally, a 3DS! :D

After months of bickering with GameStop, I finally found the cash to purchase one of these fancy systems and I'm very impressed with it. The 3D effect works very well and I am amazed by Nintendo being very sneaky and put in some fancy AR cards I never read about. :P
I got Zelda Ocarina of Time 3DS a few days before I got the 3DS so I could get the Soundtrack, which I got into the waiting list. :D The 3D adds so much to the game, even my dad was amazed by it. :)

Zelda oot

The visuals are so great on this game, 3D or 2D, I normally use 3D for the boss fights so I don't cause my eyes stress. The only bad thing about the game is that the ocarina is harder to play, Nintendo really mixed up the buttons so you can't really go low to high... :? Right now I just got the Magic Meter.

Oh yes, the mighty Friend Code:

Here it is, (get ready):

Ready?

Add me, and I'll add back if you post your friend code in my comment's page or PM. Thanks for reading, I'll post some more blogs later. :D

Kristian OUT!

Why I didn't get a 3DS today... (Rant)

Let's start this off by saying that lately I've been having major issues with my GameStop. Every time I walk in, there is always one associate and lots of customers, so the wait is aggravating (and also the fact that I applied for a job there really ticks me off). And there is this one lady who always gave me discounts and extra trade in bonuses and she is never there, I always get this mean old lady who doesn't know anything about gaming. :x

One issue (well not for me  ) I had with them was I bought Metroid Prime 3 for 14.99 and I looked in the case on the way home, I found out they gave me Metroid Prime TRILOGY. :D I never told them, its completely their fault.
Another issue I had with them was with their promotion of the "Buy 2 Preowned Games, Get 1 Free of Equal or Lesser Value" which I received for suscribing to GameStop Power Up Program Member ($15.00). I wanted to get Warhawk ($9.99) and Modern Warfare (16.99) and get Fallout New Vegas (16.99) for free. While in the store, I'm at the counter, the lady says I need to pay $7 (after I traded a few games), my Mom took the fire and helped me out. I go in the car to drive home and I realize that they charged me for both MW and F:NV and they gave me Warhawk for free, well I went back in there and they told me that "that's how they do the promotion."

And finally today, I was gonna make the big trade to the Nintendo 3DS, I gathered most of my games, leaving me with less than 15 games all together and went to Gamestop... After waiting in line for 15 minutes and the lady checking my games, she says "You have $180 with all of these games (she really enthazised $180)." I'm like HOLY CRAP!! Thats totally enough (i had $86 on my account before)!! So I accepted without buying anything and she said "You're total is $226." I left the store and my brother told me that $180 + $80 does not make $226. So I went back and I asked her why she said "$180" when it was really "$140" and she told me "I don't know... I don't remember." It was within 5 minutes!!! :x I hate this GameStop!! And to top it all off, they wouldn't accept my DSi without my powercable...

So I did not get a 3DS today. I would get it tomorrow after I trade in my DSi but I have to get Zelda 3DS so I can get the soundtrack. Just a horrible day :(

The Late Valentines Day Early St. Patricks Day Special

*SPOILERS*

Continuing off of the GS Valentine's Day Special, I would like to add a few more to the list of love conflicts and later through the blog, we will get to the gaming characters with the worst luck.

final fantasy xiii

FINAL FANTASY XIII - Deception

Final Fantasy XIII's love story is deception. Before Sarah turned to crystal, she told her soon to be husband, Snow (dude in the picture.), to save their world. Snow and his company are known as L'Cie (pronounced Le SEE :P ) and they are given a focus (or goal) and if they don't complete it they turn into monsters. Okay! Snow thought that their focus was to save Cocoon, but thats not the case. As the game progresses, it turns out that it was the complete opposite; they are destined to DESTROY Cocoon. Telephone game gone wrong?

ditto

POKEMON - Impossible to put into one word

Let's face it. We've all put our Pokemon through torture by making them breed with this blob known as DITTO. Even if you ask the Day Care manager's husband he even says that they don't like each other! The worse part is that Ditto can be a boy or girl, it doesn't matter what gender your pokemon is, Ditto's got the opposite (unless its a lengendary, lucky dawgs :P ).

The Sims

THE SIMS - Distractions

Okay, EVERYONE creates their perfect other on The Sims. It gets aggrivating when you want your character to fall in love with the other you created but is too focused on the TV or work is getting in the way. Once you ask them on a date, (unless you cheat... :P ), they have to do something to satisfy their needs. Then once the dates over and its considered a disaster, you find either your character or the significant other you created being hit on by another sim!!
Playing God is pretty hard... fail...

Zelda

ZELDA - Turn offs

Nothing grosses you out like a crazy 10000 year dude taking control of a mid 20's looking woman. Imagine being Link fighting him/her, now thats punishment, being constantly reminded that's a guy in a woman body. Enough said...

OKAY NOW THE LUCKIEST AND UNLUCKIEST PERSON IN GAMING HISTORY

Eggman

LUCKIEST: DR. ROBOTNIK

Aka. Eggman. This guy would qualify for both unlucky and lucky. But, Do you know how many robots and spaceships this guy has? How can he afford it? There's no way he climbed up the career chain with all the attempts to destroy the world that has failed. He must of had a rich grandfather who gave all his money to Eggman through his will. Its just... Luck.

Nintendogs

UNLUCKIEST: YOUR NINTENDOG....

You guys should be ashamed of yourselves, when was the last time you actually fed/watered and bathed your Nintendog? Ironically, they still love you after your abandonment. And if you lost your game, then they are gone FOREVER. Lost in the abyss of your couch or dumbster and finally if you sold your game to GameStop, you gave up your pets to a stranger who will do the same thing you did to your dog! How heartless all of you are! :P

Hope you had fun, Luck of the irish be with you and hope you found your true loves!

Happy Birthday to Me!

My brother got me a plastic dart board. He said he got a plastic one so I wouldn't make any holes in the walls, well guess what? That didn't work with my horrible Hand Eye Coordination

3. $69

Hmmmmm... What to get with this:

Birth By Sleep? Or wait till Christmas for that.. I think its $20 on Amazon new. :)

Anything else - no $60 games though, I don't want to spend it all in one place. :)
