[QUOTE="alep-om"]GS only gave it 8 . That's why I am hesitant about it :( they also gave ratchet and clank a 7.5 for having too much variety.... rent Uncharted 1 ( u will be able to fnish it and maybe even get the plat) and if u like it get uncharted 2 I'll see if I can do that but I think I am sure I am going to try Uncharted 2 . It seems good enough. I hope It will have more puzzles than the first game. Even if It doesn't , I suppose everyone likes this series so I think at least it wouldn't be a waste to buy it. Thanks for your help :)[QUOTE="yarou1000"] in the dev diaries they say they are not directly related so u wont be wondering what is happening or stuff like that, but by playing the first one you will get more out of it. The first one is actually REALLY, REALLY good, its got a 89 on metacritic....yarou1000

[QUOTE="alep-om"]Okay , Now here's this question that has come to my mind . Is the story connected btw uncharted 1 and uncharted 2 . Based on what I saw and heard , Uncharted 2 is way better than the first game in all aspect . Is it okay to directly jump to the second game w/o playing the first ? in the dev diaries they say they are not directly related so u wont be wondering what is happening or stuff like that, but by playing the first one you will get more out of it. The puzzles in 2 are supposed to be much more intensive than the first. You'll enter a giant puzzle room without any idea of where to start and you just have to work your way through it, where as in the first game everything was pretty obvious. That's what they've said in the preview videos anyway.

get them, the story will wrap you up like an anaconda.azzezinoThanks for your reply . Have you encountered any puzzles in the game? In fact if it's a good story that I wish for then I would have considered going to the cinema instead :P
Hi everyone,
I saw Uncharted 2 on GS . The score is very high . Most other reviews in other websites have given it a perfect score . But yet I am still hesitant about whether I should buy the two games of the series . I just want to know if this game can get my brain to work or it's just an action game where all you have to do is shoot enemies and/or Jump/climb overplaces brainlessly . Personally I don't much appreciate Fascinating graphics , amazing sound effects or great story in games . The only one thing that deserves a high score in my opinion is novel, creative, unprecedented and challenging gameplay . I also like puzzles to be heavily included in the game. I don't like hit and smash games. So these are my standards . Based on these standards, would you think Uncharted serieswould satisfyme ? What do you personally think of this series?
Thanks
Thank you for your detailed reply . It sure took a couple of minutes of your time to write that for me. :) By the way , How do you compare it to Ninja Gaiden Sigma ? I actually finished this game but didn't find it as hard as people said. Is Demon souls way more difficult? This game is tough. I'm on 2-2 and have died ~40 times, at least. But it's not that bad. Normally on most gamesafter the 3rd or 4th try I'll quit for a while and come back and give it another go when I'm cooled down. I went 3 hours on this last night, dying every 15 minutes, and was cool with it. When you die it's because you made a mistake. You didn't parry in time, you rolled too late, you didn't heal or healed when you shouldn't have. It's almost never because your equipment is not good enough, or because the game can read your moves, it is in no way cheap (except 2-2, damn "platforming"), and if you pay close attention you will learn from your mistakes and press on. When you beat that Blue Knight that destroyed you three times before, you feel amazing. You feel like you are on the top of the world. Until you cross the bridge without reading the message that warns of the giant fire-breathing dragon and get killed by him having to redo it.
When you redo the areas, they aren't all that big. You can normally catch up to where you died on the second time in about 10-15 minutes, genearlly you won't lose 1 1/2 worth of playtime. As for the message system, it's pretty cool but you can get along without it. Basically people can leave little hints where they were by choosing one of the available ones (you don't type in manually, you choose off a extensive list). These messages usually don't outright tell you what to expect, you can't say 'On your right there will be a soldier with a spear who will try to ambush you, use a shield". That would ruin the fun if it outright told you. Instead you will leave a message saying "Beware of the enemy's ambush" or "Right". You know to expect something but there is still the thrill of not knowing what it is, kinda like Silent Hill where you know something is there but you aren't quite sure what it is.
Others have said it time and time again: If you can learn from your mistakes and correct them, and you go in expecting that it is NOT a cakewalk, then I greatly recomend getting it. It's hard as hell, but it makes dying not that huge of a problem. \
And it's not the hardest game in the history of gaming. That belongs to Battletoads or trying to beat Mike Tyson in Punch-Out!!. Ugh.
