Happy 6th Birthday PS2!

Today marks the 6th Anniversary of the PlayStation 2. The PlayStation 2 is once again the most successful game console in the world (the first was the PS1).  I never owned a PS2, but I played some games from my cousin's PS2.  Around 2001 one of my cousins wanted me to keep his console for safe keeping.  That was good and all, but his console got me hooked.

The first game I played for the system was Crash: The Wrath of Cortex.  Even though it got mediocre reviews, I liked it.  The best game I ever played on the PS2 was Jak and Daxter.  I played this game for five hours straight!  I was pretty far in this game, but unfortunately there weren’t any memory cards for me to save my progress, but still I liked it.

The PlayStation 2 broke its own record on selling 100 million units faster than its predecessor, the PS1.  Back then I didn’t know that the original PS1 sold that much units, shocking everyone who didn’t own the console.

Hopefully the PS3 has a huge fan base due to the flaws of the consoles (the price, no rumble in controller, hardware shortages, etc.)  If the PS3 does succeed more than the 360 and Wii combined, then that will be a huge surprise, since the preorders for the system are sold out.  I might own a PS3, if I had the money though……

Why I like Nintendo

Why do I like Nintendo so much?  Is it because…

Super Mario Bros. 3 is my all-time favorite game?

I got into the Game Boy a little late?

In the past my cousins were my enemies since they owned a Genesis?

I had a kind heart and gave my NES and SNES to my cousins?

I have a friend who use to play Nintendo games (now is a PlayStation gamer)?

I almost preordered Zelda 64?

I write poetry mostly about Nintendo’s games?

I cosplayed Link a few years back?

I used to be a member of the “N-Crew?”

I watched the god-awful Mario movie?

I worship Miyamoto-san, the “God” of videogames?

I am saving my money for the Nintendo Wii?

The company got me (and everyone else) into videogames?

The list goes on and on, but you get the idea.

Viva la Revolution… urr Wii!
