@Q_Psychosis However, L.A. Noire was intended to be at least somewhat realistic. Therefor, the PCL-R applies, as Cole is an entirely realistic protagonist. That, and Reality Check is, obviously, a reality check blog. Personally, I thought this was quite interesting - I have the feeling that he would score in the high 30s, or maybe even 40, if we knew more about him... (Most of the 0s, and his single 1, are from lack of information it seems.)
For the "Out There" bit for SSB - expanding on the idea of the holder of the WiiU controller being the Master Hand, and somewhat going off of the pokemon stage from Brawl, perhaps have the Master Hand able to flip stages by flipping the controller? It would likely produce a few laughs, simply from the faces of the disoriented combatants. Besides that, my fingers are crossed for the majority of these.
@Nosnitsttam I beg to differ - Black Ops, as I mentioned, is exactly the same as MW2... Which I own. And to be honest, I find brink to be a breath of fresh air... Yep, it has problems... It also has innovation. And, of course, I have Bungie's near-masterpeice, Reach... (Wait... did I just call Halo a masterpeice? I suppose in comparison to CoD...) I'm not saying that CoD is made of absolute fail - I guess Activi$ion did something right if it is nearly the best selling game ever...
@me_tus6 Okay, I understand that you are trying to sound cool, and that your opinion is more important than everyone else's... But let's look at previous titles, shall we? Specifically, World at War, MW1, Black Ops, and MW2. The one thing they all have in common? They have everything in common. They are effectively the same game with a new coat of paint. I wouldn't mind an annual CoD release if they would at least toss in a few innovations... But, no... I could get the exact same experience from MW2 as I can from Black Ops - go ahead and say "pfft, I'll shoot you in the face on Black Ops tonight" and I'll say that I traded it in to buy Brink. Off that particular subject, remember - it isn't Modern Warfare 3... Legally, it HAS to be MW3... That is good... The game is it's initials... How would you pronounce that? "Hey guys wanna come over to my place and play some Em Double-You Three? MmmWah Three?"
@aerialstrike You're mixing up gamers and hipsters... Admittedly, I didn't start playing before video games were cool - I was born in the final years of the SNES, but I was practically born with a controller in my hands... Halo, Call of Duty... All fine and dandy. People love them, people hate them... I'm indifferent, personally. (If it says anything, I traded in Black Ops to buy Brink.) My view of the word "gamer" is an interesting one - play Final Fantasy? You're an RPG gamer. Play Legend of Zelda? You're an adventure gamer. Play Farmville? You're a time-waster-gamer. Play Call of Duty? You're a mainstream gamer. A game is a game, just like music is music... If you listen to Chevelle, chances are pretty good you don't wake up in the morning, bursting with excitement, because your radio woke you up with that new Miley Cyrus song. Likewise, if you're one of Justin Beiber's slave-puppet-girls (you probably aren't on this site for one thing) you will shriek in agony if you hear so much as the intro for Down with the Sickness. Do I like the way the industry is going? No, not really... Not much you can do to avoid it, though. The problem is, people are all out to make a quick buck... Casual games sell easily, it turns out.
@2chase Yes, I'm admitting that it has problems. Would it make my opinion any more credible if I openly stated that it was perfect, despite the occasional face-beating at the hands of lag? No, I think that would be worse. The thing is, it isn't nearly as bad as "you hear" they are - you state that the problems with the game are beyond repair (or, so you hear) whereas the truth is, a few patches, a few bug fixes will do the game wonders... Heck, even just installing the game to your harddrive makes a huge difference.
To be honest, this has to be one of the better shooters I've played. Yes, there are technical issues. Yes, there is a somewhat dissapointing amount of maps. No, I do not regret buying it at all. The problem people seem to have is that you simply cannot go at it alone - in CoD, your entire team could be AFK, but as long as you have a good camping spot, you may have a chance. In Brink, it is a bit different - you need your team, and your team needs you. @2chase - I lost count of how many times you said "I've heard" or "so I hear" - Brink has it's elements, yes - in fact, they are quite good elements that, in my humble opinion, are not lacking at all. Maybe lacking a bit in the map department, but that is nothing a mission pack or two can't fix. Maybe I'm just a sucker for the story (cliche as it may be) being tied into the multiplayer...
