And here we have a prime example of the "edgy" gamer - if a lot of people like a game, it is this individual's duty to hate said game with such a passion that the nearest copy bursts into flames.
Logan Cunningham is still doing voicework, and the only reason he got involved with Super Giant was because he's a friend of Darren Korb, so I don't see why he wouldn't be doing the music - the soundtrack was one of the strong points of Bastion, so why would they leave out such a tasty ingredient this go-round?
@Raidenwins0 You haven't played Bastion, have you?
Chances are, there won't be many NPCs aside from the narrator, but there will likely be same form of upgrade/shop system - I recall seeing an earlier video that mentioned that you wind up getting far more skills than you can use at any one time, so you'll have to have a place to swap them out, and perhaps get various passive abilities, as in Bastion.
Oh, and the Narrator won't shut up. That's just Supergiant for you. It's the same guy as in Bastion, and I couldn't be happier about that.
Yes, this is all well and cool. Its rare, BioWare is taking a bold leap, all that jazz. They take it too far. It would be believable if, say, one or two party members in Mass Effect were homosexual. But, no, Captain Shepard goes and recruits an entire team of bisexual mercenaries. The entire. Friggen. Team. Maybe I'm the only one who has a problem with that?
@Skarwolf Isn't that the point of mods? Is there any point to turning the entire race of dragonkind into horrifyingly twisted clones of Randy Savage? What about shouting thousands of cheesewheels into existence? They're all for the same purpose as the game that they're modding - fun.
@razer077 I'm sure the lip-syncing problem is just a pre-release bug - it has definitely been ironed out by now. (Along with disappearing terrain and random crashes, I hope.) The cards, though, I think aren't meant for much more than specialization buffs - rewarding you for not getting too ADD with your points, perhaps. And, I must disagree about the world - it hits the perfect balance of open, and breathing - Skyrim is enormously expansive, is it not? You could hop up mountains all the live-long day in Skyrim, but at the end of that day, that world still feels dead and empty. Amalur, on the other hand, shows its life every turn you take - there is always something to talk to, or something to do - and this is just my experience from the demo, so it may change, but I have a feeling it won't. My thoughts? It doesn't do anything horribly new, admittedly - its just an RPG with the combat from an action game, right? You don't need to be incredibly outside-the-box-innovative to do something better than it has been done before. For people who prefer their RPG combat slow and methodical, you're in luck - the majority of RPG titles on the market are for you. If you're like me, though, and prefer a bit of fun mixed in with your immersion, this looks like it may be *the* title.
@spidermanmon Don't be so quick to make that decision - judging by your avatar, I suppose it is true for you, but the 45 minutes I played during the demo for Amalur easily trumped everything I've experienced in Skyrim. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose... Amalur seems to be Elder Scrolls for people who actually want some fun in their combat.
@thequickshooter I think YOU skipped the article, because that isn't what it was about at all. He said quite clearly that he doesn't have a problem with incredibly unrealistic settings - its the thought of, basically, watching neighbors die - or even worse, thanks to multiplayer, shooting and killing neighbors. And, honestly, I have to agree... Its a combination of things that causes me to feel a bit uneasy when playing a military shooter, not the least of which is that, quite simply, games like Call of Duty soften war. It isn't fun, and it isn't pretty, and I gaurantee that when you shoot someone, money does not fly out of their head. I'm weird, I guess... If you're going to try to make something realistic... Make it realistic! As it stands, Call of Duty may as well just be fantasy in a familiar skin.
