@battlestreak: Yeah but, what specifically about Link being female would screw with the story? I don't see any reason to make Link female, but I also don't see how the story of the Zelda series would be ruined if it were to happen. The whole backlash against the mere suggestion of changing the sex of a protagonist or adding new option as to the sex of the protagonist is totally bizarre to me.
Seems totally bizarre to be okay with conceptually changing Zelda's role to be the protagonist but not be okay with changing Link's role to be a secondary and more passive one. The female character can be a warrior but the male one can't not be.
The story is the part that really lets the game down. More specifically, the complete lack of defined characters and exposition about anything. There's a solid foundation of a very interesting universe in this game but the lack of focus on any particular part really wastes that. I thought of hundreds of questions whilst playing and was never given answers to any of them. Just take the Fallen, for example. Can anyone tell me what they are, where the come from, why they're here and how they're organised? Because I have no idea. Those questions apply to every person and enemy you encounter. I know nothing more about the Speaker and the City than I did after the first ten minutes of the demo. It's a massive disappointment.
A lot of people are forgetting that, whilst you lose your games when you stop paying for PS+, and you don't if you stop paying for Gold, you lose access to a bunch of other things if you stop paying for Gold. You also get free games across three platforms, can download a large back catalog, and can redeem the games without ever having to download them with PS+.
Regardless of all those things, both are designed so you keep paying for them. Microsoft don't want you to stop paying for Gold.
@Tomcat2007 No one's saying it's a bad thing, just irrelevant. Both services exist to keep you paying, month after month and year after year. Microsoft don't want you to cancel your subscription.
