@hamtaro620: it depends on your location. In major cities (like San Francisco where I am) you get all the local channels

I wish at least one of the people in this conversation didn't like the game so we could hear a well-reasoned argument for that perspective instead of the emotionally charged whining that is everywhere on the internet. Personally, I really like No Man's Sky, but I made it a point to stay fairly ignorant of the details pre-launch and therefore wasn't really expecting something that isn't in the final product.

It's too bad that Sean Murray got carried away with the hype and promised things that he didn't deliver; people certainly have a right to be upset about that. However, all of the discussion around this game is about the things that are missing instead of examining it for what it is.

If No Man's Sky were released with no hype and no pre-launch details, I believe it would have received much higher review scores and would be praised for its technical achievements and the solitary feeling and existential thoughts it inspires. Of course this game isn't for everyone and many people will find it boring but that's inevitable with the survival exploration genre, or any genre for that matter. I just wish the game was judged for what it is rather than what it was "supposed" to be and I'm saddened at the thought that someone out there may miss out on this unique experience who would truly love it because of all the negative rhetoric.

That just felt so not-genuine. "Launch was great"? What a load of crap answering the very first question. How can we expect to believe anything she says after saying that?

@derceto: I really dislike the cartoony art design but I love the Civ games (on PC). I'm hoping the gameplay is good enough for me to overlook the unrealistic aesthetic but I wish they went in a direction that made you feel like you were actually building up a real civilization in a real simulated world rather than going for a board game feel

The review makes this game sound great but I've just never been a fan of the slower paced Total War gameplay. I might pick it up on sale some time in the future

Damn, Sony's dropped some bombs lately between this and PS Vue! They have a great ecosystem for VR as more than just a gaming console, but a home theater experience. I'm definitely getting one

Prediction for 2016: No Man's Sky doesn't live up to the hype

Prediction for 2116: The #1 purchaser of VR is the elderly

@sshfoma645 me too! I hardly know anything about it and even covered the screen when they were showing clips during this video. I hope it lives up to the hype!

That was surprisingly entertaining, mostly due to the background music
