I didn't mind the score, really. I just thought the review was horribly written, especially the opening paragraph. When a reviewer, especially a professional critic, tries to write a 'dramatic' review like that, it really annoys me. You're supposed to tell us the game's setting without being melodramatic, not the setting for your fan fiction.
There were contradictions in the review and while I realize GameSpot is a stricter reviewing site than most, I thought that the reasons for marking it down in The Bad were forced, as if he had to look hard for something to mark the game down for, and not being able to do so, came up with a reason like, "Supporting characters are rarely sympathetic," when his opening paragraph went, "Morals? Morals won't put a roof over your head. Humanity fights each other to get food and stuff. Rhubarb, blar blar bla."
It's great to be on GameSpot. The video system isn't working since something or other has always to be broken on here, but since I am an awesome registered user I can download it and watch it to my heart's content :P
And finally, I love the new comment system on GameSpot.
@Banquo_Ghost They're forced. It was like he was looking for something to bring the score down. And his 'the bad' contradicts the opening of his review.
