Same reason why people ask why Gears 2 isn't nominated for a best genre award, platform, or GOTY award. The game doesn't do anything new, the reason why it got a 9.0 is because of the hype. In fact my friend prefers GOW(1). I've seen him switch between these 2 games, and there is no difference whatsoever, except new story, weapons, maps, and slightly different graphics. Sometimes people kill me with this "..it didn't do anything new talk" .. It certainly didn't re-invent the wheel but what AAA franchise does? Gears 1 won so many awards back in 2006 it wasn't even funny.. Hell it scored a 9.6 and won GOTY here at GS.. Why would Epic **** with that formula? I know.. Maybe they should've went the Banjo route and turn it into a 90% racing game... where you create vechicles.. :|Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 did the same thing GOW2 did, and that was pretty much add weapons, maps, and a new story to it; yet a lot of people got bored of it fast. Why not the same case with Gears 2? Tell me, if you played Gears 2, then switched to Gears (1) would you go insane, because of a few new additions that's not in Gears (1)? See, here is a big problem with games today. They really should just call it a stand-alone expansion game, sell it for a lower price, and cease selling the first game, because I clearly cannot see Gears 2 being a great value for your money.

Good game, I mean it's rather an expansion pack of R6V(1), but it's a good game. If your asking if it's worth getting on PC; well if you already have a 360, just stick with that, unless you just wanna play with a mouse and keyboard... minor differences.
