I put a new PC together around December 2005 and I put in an Intel CPU even though every report suggested that AMD was better for games. My brother's new computer is AMD based though.
I think the difference between real piano's and digital piano's is probably in the harmonics because no doubt there will be a harmonic component that is out of the range of the sampler. Also, as a note decays you lose some of the harmonic frequency, whereas on a digital piano sample only the volume decays, so no doubt this contributes in some way to being able to tell the difference.
1. Battlefield 2 - I own every other game and expansion in the battlefield series except this one. Never had the money or time to play it, and last year was all about WOW for me. 2. System Shock 2. Bought it ages ago, got so far into it and it got too difficult so I gave up on it. 3. Freespace 2. Played a fair bit of it and then lost my savegame. 4. Starcraft. I also have the expansion pack, but only ever played the first terran campaign in the main game. 5. Neverwinter Nights. I made it to the start of ACT III, and my PC blew up and I lost my savegame. It takes ages to get to ACT III so I haven't really made a decent go at it again, yet. That's 5, but I have LOT'S more stuff I should of played but haven't, stuff I own that for one reason or another has yet to be fully explored (mostly because of time, never have enough of it).
The Sims.(Plus all expansion packs execpt Makin Magic) C.S.I (3 of them). Mario Bros (original Dual-Screen, Game&Watch) Singstar (I bought the Singstar bundle to get a new PS2). Um, and a game I DON'T own which makes me look cool is Pariah because I have the T-SHIRT and it looks good on me!
These prices are indicative of Sony's decision to include the expensive Blu-Ray tech. While it's cheap for a Blu-Ray player, it's a rip-off if you are primarily buying the machine for games. I don't think consumer's are actually ready for a next generation DVD format just yet. Obviously the movie industry wants to push these new formats on use because of piracy concerns, but after you spend several thousand dollars on building up a DVD collection the idea of having to do that all again isn't exactly a welcome one, speaking personally. I'm gonna have to get a PS3 so I can play Final Fantasy XIII (if that turns out to be a good game that is), but there's no way I'm gonna pick one up on launch. Most likely I'll wait for Sony to release the miniature version's like they've done with the PS1 and PS2.
