old game.. but seeing as I got a psp a little over a month ago I decided to pick it up.

without spoiling much lets just say I just cleared the whole "Nibelhiem incident"

what I like:

. Zack is a pretty likable main lead. leagues above Cloud anyway.

. Presentation is top notch. On par with many high tier ps2 games.

. The core combatis pretty fun.

. materia fusion system has alot of depth

what I dislike:

. Not enough bad-ass remakes of FF VII tunes. The majority of the new tunes sound more like DeathNote music that final fantasy music :/

. Genesis is a fruit. Seriously, he makes Sephiroth look like Duke Nukem.

. The majority of fights can be won simply my mashing the x button. Very little fights had any strategic thinking whatsoever.

. DMW is horrible. linking your leveling up and progress with a slot machine? Bad idea square.

Not to mention at times it gives you limit breakers up the wahzoo and takes out all the challenge of boss fights.

. sidequests are tedious

so all in allit's a solid game. I'd give it about an 8.0.

Well my grandmother recently passed away.

It was due to pancreotic cancer. She was diagnosed with in in mid June...and day after day we would see her condition get worse.

I'm actually thankful she passed away when she did. Better to go out peacefully then to continue suffering.

So I guess I'm half relieved and half depressed.

I remember having a psp 1000 longago ...but Itraded it in to get credit off of the 360.

moral of the story: never trade in consoles or handhelds. No matter how crappy the library is at the time, there will always be a game that comes out that makes you regret trading/selling it.

Anyway on to MHFU. That game is uber addicting. It's hard to get used to the controls at first, but a couple of hours in and it'll suck you in.

Hell just gather materials to improve your armor and weapons is addicting alone.

decided to do another playthrough in prototype (trying to get all collectables and gold medals)

...and I must say this game is as fun as ever.

Upper cutting tanks with muscle mass and whip fisting crowds of infected never gets old.

look at this glorious bastard. He ain't bright purple like those normal gengars. No, mother****'s dark bluish purple!

He's hardcore like that.

1 in 8,000 chance of encountering a shiny ghastly...and I found one in the lost tower.

"did I just falcon kick a helicopter? **** YEAH THIS IS AWESOME!"

favorite announcement of e3 thus far.

Say what you want about it looking like more of the same...but considering that galaxy was so damn good I don't really care.

It's been a while since I played it last,...AndI forgot how much fun it is.

Sure it's rough around the edges and it does feel kinda rushed...but the core combat is probably the best I've ever seen out of an action game.

I even downloaded the mission pack. It seems pretty intense form what I've played thus far.

So I picked up this game almost two weeks ago and here's my impressions (never played the game on the psx or snes):

. The sprites are kinda weirdly animated...but they also have their old school charm. I still wish Square would've remade this in 3d though.

. The battle system is extremely clever and puts a nice twist to the whole turned based combat thing.

. Frog is awesome.

. I shat bricks once I realised that Robo's theme is basically a rick roll.

I'm about 15 or so hours in and I'm really looking forward to diving deeper into this game.

My local gamecrazy was doing a deal where if you traded in your DS lite, you'd get 80 bucks off of a new dsi...so I decided seeing as I was gonna eventually upgrade down the road...might as well take advantage of the deal.

anyway the screens are alot clearer and noticeably bigger. Not to mentions that the buttons are nice and clicky. It should make hitting the diagonals alot easier compared to the lite's squishy d-pad.

I also downloaded the web browser app. It's alright for browsing forums nd stuff...but I can't view youtube videos on it :(

All in all I think it's a solid upgrade if you get past the fact that there's no GBA slot (not that I even play GBA games anymore)
