Ryo_Kensen Blog

There will be no armyofpie.com

Instead, I'm making a website called letstakeaspin.net. There will be reviews and editorials for music, movies, games, TV, and books. If anyone is interested in helping me out, just let me know.

I'm also going to have MP3's up for download on the website, and when bands want me to put up their MP3's all they have to do is send in a LEGO set. When I get the LEGO set, I will donate it to charity and then put up their MP3. This is a good way for bands to get exposure and for to make some kids happy with a LEGO set. I like giving and helping out others, and I've discovered that this would be a great way to do it.

I will also be opening up peculiar.net where I will have a charity where people can donate to us and we'll buy toys for kids in poor families. This is going to be a big project, and I'm really excited to get it going.

Until I have a real website, accept this...

http://armyofpiex.wordpress.com/

That is my new blog, run by the website that does Jeff Gertsmann's blog. I can't pay for a domain right now, so it'll be a few more months until I get armyofpie.com up and running. But until that day, and that day may never come, accept this as a gift. Just to point out, I will be posting blogs on there that I will be posting nowhere else, and once I get armyofpie.com up and running I will probably transfer all of those blogs over to it. You don't have to join the website in order to post a comment. I will be posting a large variety of blogs, way more of a variety then you'd find on a video-game community. :P

Funny story: Curiousity killed the kids

When my old best friend and I were about 10, we were just starting to become curious of the stuff we were hearing so much about on the internet called porn. So one night when he was staying over and my parents were gone, he asked if we could look some up. So we got on the computer and I asked him what to type in on Google, so he just said "naked girls", so I typed it in and we began looking, most of it we were grossed out by since some of them were too hardcore for our young eyes. So after about 15 minutes into looking through the pages and typing in other stuff (such as boobs) we heard the front door unlocking, and so we paniced and I closed the window as fast as I could. My friend was freaking out and saying stuff that I couldn't understanding, mostly "CLOSEITCLOSEITCOMEONHURRYUP!" and then he ran for my room, and then I followed quickly. By the time we got in my room my parents were inside, and we were still panicing and breathing heavily. So after a few minutes we finally went to the top of the stairs, my dad looked at us funny, it wasn't hard to tell that we were still panic striken. So I thought quickly and said, "We thought someone was breaking into the house. Then when you guys were unlocking the door we freaked out and ran into my room and hid, then we heard you talking and so we were relieved. We're still calming down."

So there's my funny story of the week. :P

P.S.: My Call of Duty 4 review is up. I think I did a good job, but I might edit it and add more later on. Also, here is my new web blog that you guys can check out: http://armyofpiex.wordpress.com/

I've answered the call...

...of duty! It's true, I picked up a copy of Call of Duty 4 today, and I've played the first few missions. To no surprise, I love it. It's probably the best game I've played in years, I'm enjoying it more than Halo 3 so far. Also, I finally got my gamerscore above 10,000. The achievement for killing 5 enemies with one shot with the AC-130 gunship is the achievement that pushed me over. Sure, it's not that impressive of a gamerscore since some of you have 20,000 or 30,000 and there's one guy on my friend list that's nearing 60,000. I'm not really much for going for achievements though, the guy on my list nearing 60,000 is a real achievement whore.

In other news, I'm getting along great with the people that work at my local GameStop, and one guy asked me why I didn't just work there since I went there so often. So I told him I applied, and it was just kind of left there, so hopefully soon I'll be getting a call. I'm hoping to run into the manager one day in the store, I keep going there at 7 PM or later so I probably always miss the manager. It's a pain in the ass trying to get hired when you don't want to work in fast food or a grocery store.

Also, within the next few days I will post a blog with a random story from my childhood that's humorous. I want to have funny blogs, since most of my blogs have to do with what games I'm getting and stuff like that. Also soon I'll be posting pictures of my birthday presents, including those wooden penguins that everyone seems to be wondering about.

It's my birthday!

Happy 18th Birthday to me!

-Tony Hawk's Proving Ground (Bought with money from my grandma)

-Command and Conquer 3 (Bought same as above)

-Ring (My parents gave my brothers a ring on their 18th birthdays too, so it's like tradition)

-Wooden Penguins

-2 shirts (One of them has a cool design, the other is a funny t-shirt)

So it was a pretty good birthday. :D

New games

I was at GameStop on Friday night with some friends, I had about 4 dollars so I figured I'd buy Max Payne 1 & 2 since they're really cheap. Once I got up to the counter, I used my GameStop card and the guy told me that I had about 30 dollars on it. So I paid for the Max Payne games and then I noticed my friends still weren't done looking around, so I went and looked through all of the 360 games to find a game to buy. I considered Crackdown, Dead Rising, The Darkness, and Far Cry Instincts Predator. I eliminated The Darkness since I figured my mom would freak out upon seeing it, and then I eliminated Dead Rising since I'd probably get too addicted again. Then I figured I should buy something I haven't played before, so I picked up the Far Cry Instincts Predator. It cost $26, which isn't too bad I guess. I've only played through about 20 minutes of the game since I've been sick since I bought it, and most of what I've gotten through is what I played through in demoes on the original Xbox. The graphics really aren't all that much improved over the original Xbox version, but hey I don't mind too much even though they should have been improved.

I have no idea how I got the $30 on my card, but hey I'm not going to complain. :D

So I love the Fall Update

I like the fall update way more than the spring update earlier this year, sure that one was pretty cool but this one is way better. In this new updated, Microsoft really listened on what players wanted to have on their dashboard and what improvements they wanted. We can finally upgrade to an adult account once we're 18, and users under 18 can use MSN Messenger now. I think the thing that I am most excited about is the Xbox Originals, I also thought it was pretty cool that they offered free gamer pictures and themes, I'm really enjoying them.

I also thought it was neat that they're going to have videos from members of the Xbox Team, it was neat to see Major Nelson after I've read his blogs so many times on majornelson.com. I also thought it was cool with the full screen previews, I've been wanting them for ages.

Edit 12/5: I just beat Assassin's Creed. :)

This is what I want for my birthday and Christmas, what do you think?

-The Orange Box (Xbox 360)

-Tony Hawk's Proving Ground (Xbox 360)

-Clothes (I'm asking my parents to take me to Target so I can just pick stuff out.)

-Led Zeppelin Records

-The Doors Records

It was pretty hard to decide what I wanted this year, so I decided to just think of stuff I've been wanting. Regardless of if I get the games or not, I'll still buy them with the money I get from grandparents.
