I miss the days demos came on a disc with a magazine. These days they seem to be reserved for those already partially invested. I'm not a huge Bioware fan. I'm even less of an EA fan. Anthem caught my attention, but with adult life limiting free time I'm not going to take a punt on an unknown quantity when there are surer things out there.
@face76: I remember when Ubisoft first announced Brotherhood they were only talking about multiplayer. Talk of single-player came much later. I've always felt the end product isn't what they originally intended.
@Mogan: Maybe I'm mis-remembering, but after spending the whole of ACIII trying to get through the sealed doorway, Desmond touched a First Civilisation doo-hickey and just dropped dead.
@face76: They did make a spin-off. It was called Brotherhood and then they realised people probably wouldn't be interested in a multiplayer only game so they crammed in a story mode.
I don't know why they continue with the modern day aspects of the games. It was the 'WTF'-conclusion to Desmond's story at the end of III that made me think Ubisoft didn't care about the modern element themselves, and was a big factor in me going off the series.
Is this news? The guy's contractually obliged to promote any upcoming and current projects, as all employees of movie studios are. I do agree that the Russos are doing amazing work over at Marvel though. Avengers Assemble was a world-changing event for me, and I loved Age of Ultron, but I think the Russos working together is the reason they're going from strength to strength compared to Whedon who admits he was struggling near the end of his time with Marvel.
Lord Zedd and The Wasp are pretty awesome. Surprised Poison Ivy and Fifty Shades of Batman were allowed in. I would've thought it was a little too suggestive.
Whether or not Disney is a squeaky-clean corporation behind the scenes, they had to be seen to denounce Gunn's behaviours and attitudes to protect their corporate identity. Do I agree with Gunn's firing? Yes. Am I happy about it? No.
The big question is why did Disney hire him in the first place? A company that's so worried about their public appearance should be vetting potential employees far more closely.
