@yoda101280: They're having problems and you're not because their systems are different than yours. Games run differently depending on the system specs, and even someone with a high end system, like me, is getting FPS stutter and lockups. It's no wonder they didn't send PC review copies out. It wasn't ready for release on the platform.

@derekscorp: Great argument. Ironically, you don't see just how regressive your school of thought is. We have gone from female characters, while a minority, being accepted and well liked, to suspecting the motives behind their, as well as other minority characters, inclusion.

The only means that a consumer should be able to dictate a product is through their wallet; the ability to stand on a soapbox and create an uproar, and influence the creative process only leads to forced, half-assed characters and games.

@merwanor: It's a bioware game, so no, probably not. We can expect stiff face animations and horrible hair meshes/textures, and with Frostbite, modding will be limited, although the DAI community did manage to push some decent things through.

@360ru13r: It's only an issue because people have brought their social ideologies and politics into the industry, in either direction ("right" and "left"). I think it's a little sad now that people have to suspect an agenda being pushed when a female character is debuted, when ten, fifteen and twenty years ago a female character was just something I accepted, with no thought towards it. Samus Aran is female? Never had a problem with it, never questioned it, and I never applauded it as a progressive monument to 'how far we've come'. Same with characters like Maya from Septera Core, or Lara Croft. These were characters I just accepted for being the characters that they were.

I'd like to go back to those days, instead of everyone trying to push philosophies that don't belong in a creative industry, and overall are irrelevant to the audience, because the audience generally doesn't care unless you intentionally stir the pot.

Edit: And just so we're clear, I mean that for both sides of this "issue", because both sides are behaving like children. Keep your real-world politics out of my video games.

@nomailx: Overwatch has as much, or more, "depth" as TF2 did at release. Which also released as a paid for game at $40 in the Orange Box bundle, and then $20 standalone. Overwatch has the potential to maintain a thriving community just as TF2 did. This sort of shooter has potential, regardless of the weird delusions naysayers are suffering from.

I'll probably just use a memory editor to remove the hand holding, then. Not a big deal to me.

@Barighm: yes, board games are still around and still somewhat popular. As for how it could capture the feel of a Souls game without feeling cheap? Easy. Look at Kingdom Death: Monsters. It's essentially what a Dark Souls board game would feel like. Unforgiving brutal, yet all the more fun because of its difficulty and learning curve.

@neo-rtsd: That was unfortunately my first thought too. A real shame, because I was looking forward to EQNext; I'm glad I didn't buy into Landmark.

IIRC, if you buy the game individually, rather than the season pass, you'll be unable to purchase the last episode. I don't want to say 'buyer beware', but definitely 'buyer be aware' so you don't end up being screwed by this questionable decision.
