Review #2 and Haibane Renmei

Not a very inventive title for a blog post I know. Anyway, it has been a very long time since my first review here on Gamespot, of Final Fantasy VIII but finally I have succeeded in producing my second review, this time for the Playstation 2 version of Resident Evil 4. I must warn you it is pretty lengthy so I don't blame you if you can't be bothered to read it through. I would however, be very grateful if anyone could leave some tips for the future as I'm looking to do another review soon (probably of Metal Gear Solid).

Also, in the past week I have been watching a thirteen episode long anime discovered in Arath_1's aficionado articles. It's name is Haibane Renmei. Directed by Tomokazu Tokoro, this has turned out to be one of the best animes I have seen running alongside the likes of Rurouni Kenshin. How someone can get a story so deep and meaningful into just 13 episodes astounds me. The concept is bizzarre (someone hatching out of a cocoon after a dream of falling from the sky and living with a bunch of angel like beings anyone?) but is pulled off to perfection. There is no action in this anime but the emotions that are brought out through the series are fantastic. Happiness, sadness, anger, tension and mystery are all present here although unfortunately I will reach the end of the series tomorrow v_v. If anyone wishes to give it a try, you can find the full thirteen episodes on youtube by just searching "Haibane Renmei". Wonderful. Anyway, I'll see you all around I guess.

I Love GMT

Some good news has finally arisen to do with time zones. As some of you know may know something called E3 is just about to begin, I'm not sure if you've heard of it or not >_>. Anyway the sweet thing is, the time zones are completely in my favour with Gamespot's live broadcasts. That's right. For example, for those whose time zone is PDT the Nintendo Press Conference would be at 9am. I am working at that time. But in sweet GMT that same time is changed to around 5pm, which is around the time I finish working! So I can watch most broadcasts without having to get up in the middle of the night, or escape from class! For once in my life, time has been kind to me. Bring on E3.

When The Going Gets Tough...Think Of Easter.

So, a couple of days ago it was announced that Bird Flu had broken out in Scotland, a mere 300 or so miles from where I live. No need for panic yet though, only birds can catch this disease at the moment. Let's hope that it doesn't mutate or anything eh? *Thinks of a T-Virus situation* :?.

Anyway stepping away from that depressing note firstly the Easter holidays have arrived with two weeks of doing some serious gaming. I am thinking of going to see a movie tomorrow and it will probably be either Ice Age 2 or V For Vendetta which I have still not been able to see. Apparently both are pretty big let-downs, but I'll make up my own mind on that issue.

I have also just completed my first review for Gamespot and the game that receives this prestigious honour is the classic Final Fantasy VIII. Find out my thoughts here:

I intend to do more in the future so feel free to leave comments on what I should improve on.

So here's wishing you all a happy Easter and I'll see you around on the forums.
