Gamer Vs Gamer

While I might have wasted my time on an anti-WoW thread I remember how it was like when I was younger and played the SNES. I hated all things SAGA just because they were the comparator. It seemed to me that when Nintendo came out with a new feature or device Sega would copy and “be a hater and stuff”. After joining up with the USAF I have learned to tolerate other people’s opinion. I still disagree but I try to use tact.

I just want to have fun with my games. If I don’t like a game I don’t generally play it. If you ask me my opinion on a game I say what I want but I usually reference something with facts. I believe my last entry is like that. Of course that is just my opinion.

Lara is comming back?

I just read that Crystal Dynamics are hard a work on a new Tomb Raider labeled "Legacy". After her poor début on the PS2 you have to wonder, will Miss. Croft be welcome at all? Then I saw the screenshots (more like concept pictures) of the new Lara model and I was grinning. Already you can see that the old girl has some new tricks and a more real look to her body.

Even though I was extremely disappointed with the last game, I have a good hope for this one. Read the article for all the info.

New and Old

Some games never get old and some old games get new again. I got today Warcraft III for PC due to the nostalgia moment I had during a WoW session today. It's going to be an interesting battle to see if I still play both games. I'm going to get the expansion pact as soon as I get a break form playing this one.

World of Warcraft is getting better now that I have a better understanding of the online community. I switch guilds because my old guild was never around to help me. I'm in the "Mister Mean" guild which is with my coworkers. With them helping me out I can get a lot more done. If we were a bigger guild we might have more fun, but i think when we max out out characters we will kick some butt.

Return of the RTS

Well for months my dad has been playing one RTS after another. One really good one he turned me on to is Command and Conquer: Generals. It is a great looking game and has some really solid game play. I'm about to LAN with my dad and see how Tough he can be. As soon I as I download the update. I've been having fun on my vacation but will have to go back to Korea next week *sighs*. At least I'll be relaxed when I get back.

Love and Hate

Well with as much fun as I'm having with "WoW" I am equally frustrated by some of the problems an MMO-RPG can bring. I hope to get some good EXP for my warrior (Kimbell) this weekend. IF the server is up. I have seen some pretty cool things already in the game. Some things are just funny and others are simply amazing. The first time I went to "Stormwind" I was taken aback. This city was so massive that it used it's own chat channels. The coolest part of it was there was no loading going into the city or the buildings within. That alone isn't much but compared to the level of detail packed into the games different areas.

Another reason I see myself playing only this game for a while is the Online community with it. There are some people who are a real help in this game. Especially toward new players. I probably would have a better character if I concentrated on him. If the game has any problems its in the way Updates are posted. I have cable Internet. So I should be able to download a +/- 36 Meg patch with in 10 minuets or less. The time it took me to get the latest patch was well over an hour (I fell asleep during the process). It should not take so long to get this relatively small amount of information. I can copy 20 music packed cds in less time.

For better or worse I now own this game and I will get my moneys worth.

To Bloldly Go...

Well now I have done it. I went and got my first MMORPG. I'm really excited to play but the lack of time is tempering that excitement. By the way the game is WoW. witch reminds me I need to add it to my collection list. I still don't know if It was worth the investment, but with such high praise from the site and coworkers how can I go wrong. I also just finished beating LOK: Defiance, again. I love that game, it is just so fun for me to play. OH, speaking of games to add I need to add Zelda (classic) to my GBA list. that's it for now, time to go.

I'll be damed...

Well after a few months of looking around the site and dropping my opinion every now and again, I got a friend. That's a start at least. In other news, I discovered that the PX now rents games. The selection is abysmally slim but they are good games at least worth looking at. So far I have rented "Burnout 3", "Mortal Kombat: Defiance", and "Star Wars: Battlefront". All good games worth buying if I could find the space for them.

No More Time

I seriously need a gamers weekend. I'm just leveled with the amount of stuff I have to get done a work. If any one out there has any free time can you send some my way, relay need it.

Let's get started.

Well I thought I had a modest selection of games when I started to compare my library with others on Game Spot. Man some are barley half the size of mine. Then again some gamers have lists that double mine. I don't know much but I do know is I have invested a lot in to my gaming selection. I hve so many now that a lot of them are half finished or been mastered a long time ago. I've gotten to the point of waiting for pay day to even think of adding to my collection. I think the only reason I don't buy games like mad is two-fold. One I'm stationed in Korea, and two I don't have the time play my PS2 as much ARG!!! Well at lest I'm saving money.
