I'm currently making felt ragdolls of cartoon characters. Anime, manga, domestic animation (like Disney), videogames and the like. I also made celebrity ragdoll in the design phase. So far, the original line up of Korn has been rendered into ragdolls.
I make stuff like that in my spare time. They are cute in a whimsical sort of way. I gave them button eyes and I draw the facial features on in fabric paint. I have made 3 dolls, 2 versions of one and 1 as itself. The 2 versions I did varied in height and because I have a perfectionist streak, I had to redo the doll.
The dolls I've made so far are Xemnas and Xigbar (from the Kingdom Hearts series). Xigbar was complicated to say the least. But I had fun drawing the scar on his cheek and the "strings" for his eyepatch. I enjoy sewing to kill time when I've had my fill of videogames at a certain period of time.
I used to make plastic dolls, but my supplier for parts and I ran into an unresolved issue. So I decided last month to make dolls out of felt, polyester fiber, buttons, embroidery thread, fabric paint and hot glue. They are nice. I should send a photo to my grandma to show her I'm doing this.
