WoW Secret Areas

Well, I don't know how secret they are but just saw this posted in the Gamefaqs forums. I admit it. I couldn't resist posting something called "Dong Island" in my journal. :D

1. Dong Island
Location: south of tanaris
How to get there: Use azure silk belt (+ 15% swim speed) and speed swim potions (+ 100%) and swim south from lands end beach

2. King of Stormwind on Alcaz Island
Location: Big island NW of dustswallow marsh
How to get there: i only got here by ghost running, in the middle of the island past 60+ elite naga and hydras is an open sewer near some houses. There are no mobs in the sewer but if you look around varian wrynn is there.

3. Quel Thalas
Location: North of Eastern Plaguelands
How to get there: swim from the Hinterlands, keep going north and eventually you will find some cliffs that are scalable. This takes a lot of jumping. The whole area is just dirt really

4. Newman's Landing
Location: Western coast of Dun Morogh
How to get there: keep swimming north from westfall or south from Menethil, you wont miss it

5. Unnamed region east of Loch Modan
Location: In title ^^
How to get there: In the mo'grosh stronghold there are some cliffs you can walk over and get to the place. Nothing of interest here yet

6. Caverns of Time
Location: Eastern Tanaris
How to get there: Die by the blocked entrance in and ghost res on the other side.

Places I have seen but don't know how to get to:
Troll village in between darkshore/moonglade
Dun Morogh airport, you see when you fly from IF to Menethil
South end of Silithus, theres a way to get there but im not sure how
GM island - this is confirmed to exist but I have no idea where it is

Here's a pic of the Airfield mentioned above:

Poor Dagny............

It seems even at the highest levels in the game you are doomed to be.... uhh... lightly armored... so to speak. :P Don't kill the messenger. lol

I'm seen here flexing my muscles in front of Beau, a fellow guild member, who was AFK at the moment. :D

More WoW Drivel

Don’t you just love when things finally work out for you? After the massive aggravation I put up with collecting the 16 elemental drops(insanely rare drops) for my Elemental Leatherworking quest I wanted to tear my hair out. Through all the frustration though, I managed to find an area that drops Breath of Wind (one of those rare elemental essences) fairly frequently. In 2 ½ hrs I managed to get six of them. That’s 7 gold a piece in the AH for a total of 42 gold plus the vendor junk I got on this little run for an additional 5 gold. Considering how poor I’ve been, 50 gold in that amount of time is so frigging mind blowing that I just had to write about it. I might just have to make this trip more often. Of course I’m not going to flood the AH with them all at once. Oh no, I need to make sure the price stays high.

Muahahahahahahaha! <--------------------------------- Geek is me! :D

Uldaman Mapped

Well, meet my new favorite instance:

A few guild members and I decided to try it out for the first time last night. Good thing because I couldn't take much more of the Scarlet Monestary instance. Anyways, it was a lot of fun and fairly succesful for our first run there. Other then a few bad pulls and a couple big mob aggroes we didn't have too many problems. The place is huge though, so we still have a ton of places to explore. Hopefully, we'll make another run at it within the next few days. I'm itching to get back.

Serenity Now..... Damn It!

http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?i=3934

This sword is haunting me. I first saw it on Thotbott when I was at lvl 30 and ever since I've been dying to get my hands on it. The minimum requirements for the quest is lvl 34. Lies! The first portion of the quest is fairly easy if you have a good group of people but then comes the real kick in the nuts. The Scarlet Manor (the instance the quest takes place in) is in horde territory and is prime ganking area for lvl 60 horde that just want to make your life miserable. Once you actually make it in the instance you don't have to worry about the horde(for now anyways) but you do have to do deal with the high 30's and low 40's elites. Obviously you need a fairly high lvl group to get through this place like every instance really. What differentiates this instance different from previous ones is the set up. Instead of one big instance there's 4 seperate instances in the same area. Complete one and you go to the next one. The last two are locked up and can only be opened with a key from one of the other two instances. This is probably the reason the high lvl horde love ganking in this area so much. Here's a little diagram to illustrate my point:

..........................3............4..................................

1................. Gankville here ............... 2.

*sigh*

Anyways, I tried doing it with a group last weekend and for the most part we did pretty well. In four hours we managed to do section 1,2, and 3 but were but that's where things went down hill. Our healer had to leave, it's hard to blame someone when it took us that long to get to this point but it still sucks. We attempted to do it anyways and actually made it to the final boss, Herod, but that's one we got are butt handed to us. Without a healer it was just sad, what can I say. After that the group completely splintered so I'm left with 3/4 of the quest finished which means I'll most likely being doing the whole instance over yet again. It's not likely I'm going to find a group that just want's to do the last part of the instance. I don't have a problem doing it again, nice drops in these areas, but I fear that the long amount of time to do the instance will lead to the same exact thing happening. Oh, Sword of Serenity, why do you torture me so?

Battlestar Galactica

Let’s face it, I’m a sucker for all things Sci-fi or Fantasy based. So, when I recently saw the previews for the new Battlestar Galactica series my interest was piqued. I had seen a few of the original episodes and quite frankly wasn’t impressed. Maybe that’s a little unfair considering how old the show was but it did nothing for me. That’s probably why my expectations were so low when I sat down and watched the 4 hr mini-series that kicks the series off. I came away from it very impressed though. I think I’ve finally found another good sci-fi show. It’s been awhile. I somehow missed the first two episodes, obviously using a VCR is too complicated for me. :| Thankfully, Sci-fi reruns the first couple episodes in the AM hours, which more shows should do by the way, and I’ll be able to tape them (taped the first one already actually). Anyone into Sci-fi should definitely check the series out, starting with the great mini-series if you can still find it on tv. It's off to an impressive start.

Some Good News For WoW Fans

Here's the part that really makes me happy. :D

[Character migration]
We plan to offer a 1 time migration from high population realms to low population realms to ease the overcrowding. It is currently undergoing implementation/testing. More details to follow.

The Character migration sounds great. It should lessen the strain on some of the over crowded servers when implemented. :)

Also, this update on Battlegrounds sounds awesome. Check it out here:
