Madden NFL 2008

What up gamespot readers. its time for another gaming review by the one and only h8X. for this installment we have the review of Madden NFL 2008. First off a lot of new features I was eager to get a hold of. The new weapons system is definitely great add and gives an edge to players. your running backs, wide receivers, quarterbacks all have their own unique edge. My favorite part of the game hands down is the Hall of Fame mode. Reminds me of a season mode in the WWE series. You have the option of being the lone wolf, out for himself and is only looking to make himself look good. Or become the leader of the pack and puts the team first. Either way you have your own gauntlet of sports agents to fit your taste. Being able to be drafted by your favorite team is a plus. You can go with your favorite or see where you land after the draft. anyway definitely worth playing. two H8X thumbs up. until next time peeps. -keep raising hell one day at a time

WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2008

yo yo yo what up people H8X is back on gamespot and its time to review smackdown vs raw 2008, the latest in the series from WWE Games. First off, not bad at all. I think this version of the game made the biggest leap from its predecessor. I think the guys at THQ thought of almost everything they could and brought it to the game. Hell I was so tired of waiting a whole year for hell in the cell, and another for buried alive.. But with the new flaming tables and barbed wire bats, choice of weapons in the ECW Extreme Rules, the 3 brands, 24/7mode, and GM mode, hell they went above and beyond. I think the game hit a home run right out of the park. And FINALLY we have some new moves for CAWS and improvements on existing ones. finally some good looking DDT's and finishers. And the fighting styles arent bad either. My favorite is hardcore (of course, being the hardcore hero it only comes natural). My CAW Jet Madrox is currently going through 24/7 mode which is a great mix of season mode, and yet controlling your career. Building your own skills and popularity. So if you get the chance, check it out. Thats it for me people, im out. -Keep raising hell one day at a time

Its Been A Long Time

yo yo yo people whats up. Yeah its been a while since ive been on GS. Hell longer than I can remember. But yeah I keep track of it every now and then. I typed in "H8X" on google, and wouldnt you know it, my gamespot profile is the first link. haha. h8x worldwide baby! anyway whos to say how active ill be. But ill definately be updating my blogs and my game collection. I see now im a level 7.....funny I used to know exactly what the levels meant and how to up them, now im like hmm...is that high or low haha. anyway i guess the gamming topic of the day would be the upcomming Smackdown vs Raw 2008. The most anticipated game for me anyway. IDK why when I think about it. I mean if you take a look at, hell the ENTIRE series. Dating all the way back Smackdown shut your mouth, just bring it, and know your role. Even before there was smackdown VS raw. not much has changed. graphics yes, updated roster yes. wow thats great. But other than that, really all it is is new match gimmicks. I will give the game credit for introducing the GM mode. That is a very fun aspect of the game. And hell Im still there at the gamestore reserving my copies. In my opinion it doesnt take much to sell a wrestling game to a wrestling fan. New rosters are to be expected, and if youve been buying the games, you just trust in the programmers ability to bring something new to the table. Hell well just see what happens when it comes out in november. thats it for this installment. Until next time my children keep raising hell, one day at a time!

Just Cause-Review

I just grabbed a copy of the game just cause for the ps2. and i have to say it was pretty good. It has a GTA feel to it, good weapons, a good story, and graphics arent bad either. the big selling point of the game was teh ability to do insane stunts that GTA type games didnt offer (IE. jumping out and on top of moving car, parasaling from another moving car, freefalling, etc). And whats even cooler is that its easy to do. simply push X while driving your car (R1 to accelerate) and youll jump on top of the car, push X again to jump back in and take control. So youll look like a pro jumping on your car, poppin a few bad guys and back in to speed off. Im looking forward to seeing what else the game has to offer, but as for my partial reviews: Graphics: 8 Gameplay:8 Music:6 Thats it for this edition my children, until we meet again: -Good times, noodle salad

Ive Made My Decision

Hello my children, many of you have wondered, Xbox 360...Playstation 3....Well ive decided on Nintendo Wii. Makes sense in every aspect. First off the controller, its probably the best thing to happen to gamming ever. at least in my opinion. Others can argue internet acess, maybe even disc format. Playstation 3 really did get F'd because of the wii. Ps3 thought their tilt action controller would blow peoples minds, and then Wii took it to a whole new level and now adds an entirely new aspect to gamming. making it all the more fun. Now, who even cares about tilt action from ps3? big deal, wii lets you point and shoot like an arcade style game, and even have a sword fight!?! And lets not forget Wii's launch price of an amazing $249!!! the Ps3 with 20GB (Ghetto Version) cost 500! And if you want to go with 60GB (Spoiled White Boy) that'll cost you 600. By the time yo have money for that, its amazing if you can even afford games! you'd need a good 750 for the system, a controller, and a game or two. But take that same money and spend it on a wii, then you have a butt load left over to get controllers, and a nice collection of games. youll be the most popular kid on the block. So you can expect this gamer to be gaming it up in November. Until we meet again, Good Times, Noodle Salad

System bombardment

A week ago I wanted to ge an xbox 360, then I realised that the PS3 and Wii released are just around the corner. Its overwhelming to say the least. i mean, im running around counting up paychecks for weeks I havent even worked to see if I can even afford one of them. Not to mention, gotta have games right? itll take a good month to afford the system and one or two games. Then I gotta save up for the Other system and games for that! I cant win!! by the time i have a decent collection, newer and newer games will be comming out and it will be an endless battle to afford the "next gen of gamming." "Too Expensive to Keep Up" Until next time my children, good times, noodle salad

Red Steel

....Youve Gotta Be ******** Me. Thats my reaction when I saw this game for the upcomming Nintendo Wii. I nearly sh--....well...Something almost happened. Thsi game looks insane, and not even because of the story, or the graphics (both of which are great I might add) but the gameplay! your given two wireless controllers about the size of joysticks, and with this you can move around with one, and point and shoot with the other. its insane. its like a real life arcade game in your living room! dam i had no idea nintendo Wii was taking things to this high of a new level. And i am hands down getting this game and this system and no one at the video store is going to stop me! AHAHAAHAH! -Good times noodle salad

Tom Clancys Rainbow Six: Vegas

this game looks amazing. The graphics are insane, for a minute I thought what was actually a cut scene was a clip from a national gaurd commercial. It took me by suprise and needless to say got my attention that much more. Gamespot posted an interview where they talked about motion caption used for the game which makes the game look all that more impressive. the ammount of effort gone into making the game look that much more real. Also the gameplay looks impressive. being able to take cover and scope targets out, being able to give orders to your troops then cover them as they take out the enemy. This game looks off the hook and I will definately be checking it out in november. Good times, noodle salad

Smackdown Vs Raw 2007-General Manager Mode

Well the time is almost here for the release of Smackdown Vs Raw 2007. I was checking out a video interview for it on gamestop and they went into some detail about the improved General Manger mode. I thought it was a great idea when they introduced it last year in Smackdown Vs Raw 2006. It is hands down the most difficult mode of gameplay the game offers. Its not like the others, After a year in season mode, your done. you can continue if you want but theres not much to it than that. But with general manager mode, you are literally pounding you brains in trying to figure out new ways to get ratings, push superstars, and make money. Booking one solid week will take you a good 5 minutes and after simulating or worse playing each match, your already overwhelemed. Now you have to check superstar morale, finances, ratings, etc. well it looks as if theyve made it simpler, at least some aspects anyway. there is now a power 25 which is their version of a rating system. Now you can decide which superstars will fued against each other and for how long. That is a great improvement, where as befroe you had to match up the superstars each week for it to count as a rivalry. Theyve added a WWE.com type layout for the game which looks pretty cool. Not to mention features they didnt want to let out of the bag. GM mode is looking up this year and im looking forward to checking it out on the 14th. until next time, Good Times, noodle Salad

Mortal Kombat Deception

I was crusing around blockbuster an came across a copy of Mortal Kombat Deception for about 20 bucks, thought I would check it out being that im going to be getting armageddon in a few weeks. Looking forward (and then again maybe not) to create a fatality.

anyway the game is pretty good. fast paced, and if your an oldschool MK fan like me, you know the new MK games have come a long way since the genesis. Man those were the days, back when fighting reptile under the bridge was the coolest thing in the world. So yeah the game was decent, wasnt much of a fan of the miscelaneous games like puzzle kombat, etc. And I dont really know why they continue that with Motor Kombat with armageddon. Anyway, ive yet to see all teh fataliies but ive seen some cool ones so far. I do enjoy playing as ghost Lui Kang. the game is hands down difficult, if you pass Kombat mode in one attempt I tip my hat off to you.

my one problem with the game is the complex moves. Back in the days a good move was toward toward high kick. now its Triangle Sqaure X X up down up down L1 R1 Circle. dam who the hell pulls these moves off? Its not like you have all the time in the world to try this combo. The moves are just as difficult as the fatalities! lol. which realy blows because your left with the simple punches and kicks against a black belt mutant like goro whos looking to decapitate you.

Bottom line, if your looking for a game for 20 bucks its worth taking a look at. I probably wouldnt pay full price for this version but for what it cost it was worth the buck.
