I think this console could do very well. It seems like a decent deal at $99. That's a price area that isn't served at all by other console makers. Many great indie games don't require much horsepower at all. This system allows people to play these games with a controller, in front of a TV, instead of on a tablet or phone.

It isn't a question of being ready. Gamers will never be ready. The industry professionals who think that gaming culture will eventually acquiesce, and accept the always-online system, don't understand the issue at all.

The problem is not Microsoft wanting people to have an always-on connection. It's fine to want that. The problem is blocking offline features when the machine loses internet. Let gamers use the features that require no internet connection when the console is offline.
