My most anticipated game, next to PoE 2. Kind of fed up of open-world but in an FPS with this kind of setting that's not your typical game. Just hope it isn't overly bloated with pointless collect x towers stuff.
@just_visiting: This has been on my mind for some time, like how does the busy life-style of work, family, etc, allow space for individuality. I guess the answer is that "what I want" will be limited, because there are things that has to be done, and other people to consider, and that may be all there is room for. I'm not saying that doesn't have value, just that your individuality kind of has to take a step back in the queue. I guess that's a daunting concept for someone who has lived so much on his own, I'm not sure I could transition in that big way.
There must be an appeal though, or people wouldn't have sacrificed for it. I frequently think about what I'm missing. Ultimately the grass is never greener I think, just different. All lifestyles have pros and cons. I'm sure you will get back to gaming at some point, if you wish to. Different phases of life and all. Many times I think to myself that "that time is over" or that I'm done with something, only to see it organically return at a later time in life.
@JagedNS: As someone who plays an MMO I'm curious of how it would work in a relationship, at least where only one person is the gamer. I have been in a couple but then both were gamers. I'd like to think and hope that they would be OK with me keeping my passion, even if I can see some potential challenges. Do you find it difficult to get relationship time + do life stuff + gaming? Seems like there wouldn't be enough time, lol.
@faithxvoid: You're partly right, according to this.
"By June 2007 Funcom began to update the game's 3D Rendering Engine. While the current engine — Funcom's proprietary Dreamworld — had received incremental improvements with the Notum Wars booster in 2002 and Shadowlands expansion in 2003, the 2008 announcement stated that it would be completely replaced with more modern software to "release the game fresh". Originally, a modified version of the open-source rendering engine OGRE was used. Funcom released a short video demonstrating an early version of its implementation, and said that it would be completed by the end of 2008. OGRE was dropped in May 2009 because it did not provide "the full featureset" they had anticipated. Funcom decided to instead use a recent version of the Dreamworld engine, the same version used for their 2008 MMORPG Age of Conan."
Hm, I'm reading this as the original Engine was their own, Dreamworld, then OGRE was the planned replacement but was dropped. Then they went with a new version of Dreamworld. I had the impression OGRE was the first Engine but seems not.
@Ohaidere: 5 was what got me into Resident Evil. My best friend that I had recently met actually through work, was a fan and brought it over to my house, we played through it co-op and it was a great time. I was surprised when I learned it's considered one of the worst entries, it didn't align with my experience. I guess it is this, because I played it with my friend, and besides I had no point of reference to other RE games.
