So the criteria for a good launch is new IP? Then sorry, but PS3 and Xbox were even worst off. 5 good games is pretty damn good considering most systems launch with no more then 2 good games.
What he said. Also, while I find the New Super Mario bros games to be very respectable, it really doesn't hold mustard compared to Metroid Prime, Mario 64 or Zelda Twilight Princess (at least, if it's going to be anything like the NSMBW and of course it will). But like I mentioned in my OP, the overall number of quality games in that roster is much better than I anticipated.
Now that I think about it, it might be the best line-up for the launch of a new platform in the past 10 years it seems. I mean, remember the launch of the PS3? Xbox 360? Those were pathetic. Shit, the PSP still doesn't have more then 5 games that I would consider owning.
Not bad for a launch line-up. I'd say it's the overall best line-up ever by Nintendo, but it lacks a definite AAA Nintendo game that would have sold the fanboys instantly like a Metroid or Zelda that was in previous launches.
I wish they'd go back to telling a simply, more relatable story instead of something complex and convulated that requires you to read through menus of flavor text just to understand basic terminologies like la'cie or fal'cie. Yeah, I don't like FFXIII too much.
