Blog postin....The lack thereof

I've finally got the wireless headset for the Xbox 360. It was kind of a trouble story really. I bought it about a month ago and it was missing the extra earpiece. You know, the earpiece for the people with fat ears (me). Well...I called Microsoft and asked them if they could just send me the earpiece. That's all I wanted. They told me that the device was too new and that they didn't have a SKU for the part yet. They recomended that I take it back to the store. OK, so I did. Trouble with that was that GameStop didn't have a replacement for me. So I just got my money back. I waited for a month. Picked up a new one and opened the box. Horray! It had the extra earpiece. Oh wait. No. It's the small earpiece. You know, the one for the people that have dwarfism (not me an no offense to the little people out there). Ah well. I'll just deal with it being a little snug on my ear.
Anyway, back to the actualy headset deal. It works fairly well. There have been reports of people haveing defective headsets and Microsoft it working to correct those. The sound quality on the thing is pretty good. I guess it boils down to two things. People can hear me and I can hear people. It works. It's good. It's wireless. It's $60. May be a little pricey for some people, but if you play online with your 360 at all and chat if up with the morons that run on Xbox Live, then put this on your Christmas list. You'll be happy you did.
Finally broke the 10,000 point barrier today. I cleared up Act 3 of Gears on the Insane difficulty. 30 points to break the barrier. Played a little bit online. No ranked matches though. I'll only do player matches until they fix it and people tend to calm down some. Anyway....go me.
And don't play Gears online in Execution mode. That's got to be the most lame mode out there. Warzone is what you want.
Getting rid of my games!

Broken down and feeling guilty
by Binard on Comments
I finally broke down and got a Nintendo DS Lite. I also picked up New Super Mario Bros. It's pretty good. I am however, feeling a little guilty in my purchase. I haven't bought a game in a while and I feel bad for doing it. I was on the fence for a while on wheather to get a DS or Xbox Live Gold and a game. The DS won. The only reason I didn't get a 360 game was that there aren't any that I want right now. It'll get better once N3 and Gears of War are relased.
Ta ta for now.
Oh noes!!! Back to basic!

Yup, I'm back to a GameSpot Basic account. Oh well...I don't see the point in paying for it another year. My work firewall blocks the site anyways. Can't really do much on it during the day. When I'm at home I'd much rather be playing games then reading about them. Besides, other sites like Joystiq.com and GameReports come through the firewall just fine.
Just thought you'd like to know.
Bird$hit and idiots...

Then there's the money thing. It does bug me a bit that it costs a lot of money to go. Now, I don't want to hear all of the lovy dovey touchy feely words saying, "Oh, but you'll have such a good time and a great experience. Damn the cost." Such words are for people that A) don't care about money B) like to think they don't care about money but really do or C) have too much money to begin with. I just told Alice that I don't want to go for this reason and she's a little upset. I thought she'd be more releived than anything. Lifting the burden of trying to figure a way to pay for it. Now she wants to get a second job and not be home. I don't want her to, but she's pretty stubborn.
Gasoline woes

Sorry. I know you've heard this rant before and have it yourself. I spent $40 on gas to fill the piddley little Ford Ranger I have. My only saving grace is that it's pretty good on the mileage and I only drive it to and fro work. Just annoyed, that's all.
Wish I could have spent that $40 on Top Spin 2 or maybe some MS Points to gear up for Street Fighter 2 from XBLA.
E3 is coming up, of course. I have that week off from work. I was originally planning on going, but that fell through. Don't really know what I'll be doing for the whole week. Probably just relax and play Oblivion (still has its meathooks in me). Anywho, thanks for reading people or person.
Shut close the jaws of Oblivion!

Ok...onto the home life. Been trying to get some work done around the yard. We need to repair a good bit of it. The grass doesn't grow so well when dogs trample on it. Work may be shaping up here soon. My manager is leaving and all of the team leads are scrambling for the open position. If one of them gets it then there will be a team lead position open. I may be able to slide right in. Not really sure if I'm lead material though. I just lack the confidence in myself to be able to do it. But I'll slap my resume together and get things started. See where I'll end up.
Thanks for reading.
I'm still here

Since I've received it I can't stop playing it. I have no interest in other games anymore. I look at my PS2 and I'm thinking about going back to play the games I didn't, but no. I don't even look at the other sections of the gamestores I go into. I don't know why. I know what's out for the 360, but I keep going over to that spot and keep eyeballing other games. I bought Psychonauts to tide me over until my 360 came back, and played that a good bit, but since I have my 360...no longer.
What is it with me that is making me shun the rest of my gaming collection? I should be reveling in the fact that I have almost 200 games and can play any one of them whenever I want, but I'm not. Am I stuck in some sort of next gen fever? I was like this when the Dreamcast came out. I couldn't purchase anything else but Dreamcast games. The only thing that is going to take me away from the 360 (aside from the PS3 launch) is Final Fantasy XII. Anyone else have this problem?
