I simply don't understand why they call it a console. Isn't it just a (tiny) custom PC? I watched that GS interview a couple months ago and just now read their official FAQ and all I can discern is that the Piston will (supposedly) play any game from a web-based service such as Steam or GoG and disc-based games via a USB DVD/BD drive.
This thing and Smartglass are two of the most bewildering products/concepts in my recent past to me.
What was the eye opening event last week? My guess is Carol's GTA V review, but I was too busy watching League of Legends all week. Also, I don't give a damn about GTA V, so I didn't really read it.
Have been playing it for a good week or so, as Kevin says, it seems absolutely well crafted, but feels a bit lacking in innovation. That said, the class system is great and I think it negates his negative point of grinding, as you'd simply have to start a new character in any other MMO, resulting in a whole lot more grinding. Leveling secondary classes also awards bonus experience anyway, making the whole ordeal a lot faster.
It also has to be said that this game, for an MMO, just looks beautiful at times. I was walking through a dungeon and couldn't help but admire the lighting and the excellent shadows, weather changes dynamically.
May the best team win, but I'm concerned this might set a trend where Korean teams will migrate to other regions because the competition in Korea is so strong and we'll have the same situation like the WCS.
@Quietpower09 Yes, but runes explicitly cannot be purchased with money. Besides buying IP boosts, a person investing money into the game will have no gameplay advantage over someone playing the same amount who doesn't buy anything.
Nintendo's pricing policy on their old games is baffling. Everytime I check the (original) DS section, I see Mario Kart DS at its full price and shake my head. I guess people will buy anything Mario related, so they can afford it.
