@t1o9n9y1: Breath of the Wild excels when it comes to its sense of discovery and wonder. It's an absolute blast to explore the world and find all the weird, hidden things in it.
The parts where it's a Zelda game were highly disappointing though. The four story dungeons are short, uninspired and follow the same formula of "hit the weak spots to gain access, get to the terminals, get to the main terminal, defeat the boss." The story is also insultingly terrible with an unrewarding ending.
By the time I was done with the story, I just shrugged and moved on, even though I could still check out a lot more stuff in this world.
NieR: Automata though. Now that's a game I'm thinking about on an almost daily basis.
Pretty much agree with their assessments, gun play feels outstandingly tight, graphics look sharp, that devil walker fight takes too long. The problem is it's so slow that you start wondering if you're doing something wrong, try different stuff in desparation to make it go faster and risk dying. Then again, the point of dungeons and raids in MMOs is that they start out hard and take a long time, but you gain equipment by finishing it, making it easier to finish the next time, etc. until your gear is good enough to try the next dungeon/raid. At least I'm hoping that's the end game for this.
Don't know if they adjusted the sound mixing for the trailer, but the weapon sound volume is super low, making the weapons feel very underwhelming. Other than that, I guess I'd play a larger scale Borderlands
When I watch people play DayZ, it's like 35% other people, 1% zombies and 64% absolutely nothing happening at all. If they can actually make a structured game with goals, they might have something on their hands.
