Story From Today

So today I woke up around 9:15 for my class at 9:30 so I was obviously late for that class but that is beside the point. After English i had my hour between classes to do whatever i feel like. So i remember i had to write something for my career development class due today so i went into the school library to write the paper.

I get into the computer lab in the library and give them my ID or whatever so i can use a computer. So i get to the computer they assigned me and i noticed something pretty cool. Some moron had left his wallet next to the computer. I sat their eyeing the wallet as i BSed my stupid paper. So i rushed through the paper and after sat there looking at wallet. I was in the position of "if you found a wallet with money in it would you take it or turn it in". Anyone who has talked to me probably knows what i did. For those of you who may not know me as well; I took it. DUH!

So i walk back to my car to view the contents of the wallet. To my misfortune, no money whatsoever. The guy had no joke 12 credit cards, but I was not interested in those cuz they are traceable. I also found all his medical cards and social security card. If I was an identity thief I would have hit the jackpot but why would I steal the identity who appears to be in debt with all those credit cards and no money in his wallet? Sounds like a bad identity to me. So since the wallet was utterly worthless to me, I took it back to the lost and found at the school. What a nice guy I am!

Trip to Auburn

So this past weekend I finally got to visit my girlfriend at Auburn University. She left Maryland in early August and I hadn't gotten to see her since she left. So since my birthday was September 28th and I did not really know what I wanted so I decided to ask my parents to send me down to Auburn for the weekend. They agreed to it so I was excited about that all month.

When it came around the time to go I began having second thoughts about whether to go or not. I was nervous about meeting all her new friends, coaches, and teammates. I know with women that their friends can easily influence them so i was afraid they would not like me and talk bad about me to my girlfriend.

I eventually got passed all the worrying and decided I still should go. I was very glad I chose to go because it was alot of fun to be with her again. We got to catch up on some things that we had missed out on while she is away (you know what I'm talking about). I got to the Atlanta airport around 4:30pm on Friday. My girlfriend and her roommate, whose boyfriend was also coming down, were supposed to meet me there around 6:30. They got tied up after their practice and had to go to some team meeting and ended up being very late. How late? 4 hours more of waiting. I ended up leaving the airport around 12:30am for an hour and a half drive back to Auburn. It was all worth it though because it was so good to see her again. I don't know if anyone has ever been in a long distance relationship but it is very challenging.

So on Saturday my girlfriend made arrangement so we would be able to get good seats for the football game vs. Tennessee. It was a great game but we had to leave early because her roommate was complaining about the heat too much. So after that we went back to her dorm and "hung out" (again, you know what I'm talking about) for a few hours. We went out to dinner to celebrate my birthday (I turned 19 btw). After that we went back to the dorm and "hung out" some more and went to bed.

I had to leave the next morning around 11 so I did not get to see her as much as I wanted to but it was still good to see her. I will not e able to see her again until Thanksgivng so I will have to hold on to this past weekend.

Just wanted to tell you all how my trip was. Thanks for reading. Leave some comments.

10 Things You May Not Have Known About Me

Yo, whats up everyone its BPoole. For this blog I'm going to be copying Pending on his past blog which was to post things about yourself that people would not know about you. At this point I'm planning on doing 10 but since my life is really boring I probably won't make it that far lol. Alright here we go:

1. I am left handed

Not exactly the most interesting fact. But it does have effects on my life. For instance, i was using a chainsaw one time and i have to hold it differently than i right handed person would so it feels comfortable for me. So I'm up in a tree in my backyard cutting branches off and the chainsaw slips out of my grip and nearly saws my right hand off. The only good thing about being left handed was for when I played basketball.

2. I used to be very athletic and fit before I got heavy into video games

I have played video games nearly my entire life, but I have never considered myself addicted until i started playing online games. I played baseball as a kid, soccer until 8th grade, and basketball until 10th grade. I was on the JV football team my freshman year of highschool but rarely saw the field so i quit after that season was over. Not my kind of sport. I had to quit basketball because both of my knees are screwed up and pop out of place very easily. Everytime they bend it makes a cracking noise that hurts but I've just learned to deal with it. I then got into weight lifting and was pretty serious about it. That all stopped once i bought my ps3 though lol.

3. I'm a very stressed out person.

Although my life is very boring I still manage to carry alot of stress. Between school, family work, and my girlfriend I have become very stressed out over the years. My lack of activeness has probably caused some of this as well.

4. I don't drink alcohol or do any kind of drugs.

Thats right, I'm one of the few late teens that isn't into all that stuff. yeah, I have tried some of the stuff but i decided I just didn't like it. Personally I dont see the huge attraction of drinking until you can't even speak clearly and doing stupid things that you're just going to regret . On of the few times I got drunk I hooked up with a fat chick who had been trying to get with me all night. We didn't do anything serious, but I was still made fun of about it and I was disgusted with myself afterwards.

5. Hair loss/ graying at age 19

I turn 19 the 28th of September and my facial hair has already begun to grow in gray in some areas and my hair line has begun receding. I am very embarrassed by it and it bothers me alot. Luckily nobody has really begun to notice yet.

6. I have nearly died 2 different times.

One time was way back when I was about 8 years old. I was over my grandmas house and she used to always give me those hard caramel candies. Anyway I eating it while I was laying on the couch and I was tired so I yawned and the candy became lodged in my throat and i began to choke. So I calmly began to stick my fingers down my throat trying to get it out. After about a minute of that I finally came to the realization that I was about to die. I went into my grandmas kitchen and she saw I was choking. Luckily in her earlier days she was a nurse. She did the Heimlech to me and it shot out of my mouth and saved my life. Its a shame because as I grew up I began to despise my grandma for things that she does, even though if it wasn't for her I'd be dead.

The other time was about 2 summers ago when my friend and I were walking from his house to my house. As we were walking my friend picked up a tennis ball and threw it at me. I saw him about to throw it so I dodged the ball. The tennis ball landed right next to the road so I ran over to the road to pick it up. Right as i was picking it up a utility truck going about 50 mph came down the road. Right as it passed it passed me a latter on the side fell off a little and was heading right for my face. Somehow I reacted fast enough and fell on my back. As I fell back I saw the edge of the latter go right over my face. I don't know if that would have definitely killed me, but it would have done alot of damage.

7. I've thought about "ending it all".

I never really considered doing it, but I do think about it. If I were to I just wonder how people would react. Would it be a shocker to people I know or would they have seen it coming. I can't say too much about this because of GS's policy on this even though I have never actually considered it.

8. I have anger management problems.

I know this comes as a shocker to anyone who has ever played a video game with me (kidding). I don't just yell cuss words and break stuff for video games, I'm that way with anything that is extremely annoying. I was in a chat with Navigata the other night while I was doing my online math homework and the program was changing my answers and making them wrong so it was affecting my grade. I was infuriated. After he got out of the chat I ended up getting so mad that I actually punched my computer screen (Not my new Macbook, I'd never do that to it lol). After I punched it I then realized there was a big crack in the screen and then the screen went black. Luckily there are alot of old monitors laying around my house so I just hooked some retro monitor up. I guess I'll have to go and buy a new one lol. I used to go to a psychologist as a young kid for the same reasons but I stopped going. I guess I'll just deal with it.

9. This one isn't that serious but it does however piss me off. My first name is Brian, not BrYan. I hate when people spell it with a Y. Thats pretty much all there is too it.

10. I very shy with women.

When though I've been in a relationship for nearly 2 years, I'm still shy with other girls. Not my girlfriend of course but I have trouble talking to girls my age and meeting new people. My social skills are not very good so meeting new people is hard for me. I still haven't really made and friends in college so far.

Well here are 10 things that you probably did not know about me. Hopefully you found them to be interesting. Feel free to leave comments. Later

First Day of College...

That's right, I'm now in college. The years have just flown by and now I'm officially out of grade school. Seems like yesterday I was just starting high school, but now I'm in college. So today I had my first class which was English 002. "But I thought college level classes were all 101 and up"? Well allow me to explain.

During the summer I had to take a placement test called the acuplacer. Keep in mind that I was waking up anywhere from 3-6pm on any given day during the summer. For this test I had to wake up at 7 and take this 2-hour long test. As I expected, I didn't do very well. My math and science scores were decent, but I missed being eligible for English 101 by 1 point, 1 freaking point, so now i have to take below college level english and wont get any credits for this class.

So I walk into the class and look among my, I could already tell this class was going to be idiotic. I mean I took advanced english all 4 years of high school and got As and Bs in it. Now apparently I'm not ready for college level? Sounds pretty ridiculous to me. I could appeal the test but I'm way to lazy to do that, this class could be fun for me considering the people in there. I have 2 "mentally challenged" guys in there that were hilarious. Everything they blurted out made me laugh so I could get used to that. The kid next to me can't read so got the honor of reading a 4 page packet to him while he asked me the definition to every other word. Well after an hour and a half of that nonsense I had an hour before my next class, which is American popular music. Don't ask how i got put in that class, but I am.

Anyways so I had an hour to burn between classes so I walked around campus a bit. I ran into a few of my acquaintances from high school and talked to them some. It was kind of cool cuz since it was opening day they had a big cookout thing going on on the football feild. There were burgers, hotdogs, chicken, and even a stand for italian ice. There was also a tented area that had video games in it. There was only Xbox360 and Wi in there though (Prolly couldn't afford any PS3s). I went in there for a little to check it out. They had Halo 3 and Super Smash Brothers Brawl on all of the systems. Lots of people were watching/playing the games. I played a few matches of Halo 3 for like 15 minutes but then I had to go.

So I get to my American Popular Music class and see a sign on the door. It says my teacher "forgot his name" is not available today and class is cancelled because he is "trapped" in hurricane Gustav. So it said a substitute would be coming in for the class but class that day was optional, so I left.

Well that pretty much sums up my first day of college. Tomorrow I have my first math class so that should be interesting. Thanks for reading. Later

Cod4 Forums

This is going to be a very short blog, but today I went to start a topic on the CoD4 forum and it said that I have lost priveleges of posted new topics on that board? I never got any notice or anything saying I did something wrong. I've had a few posts deleted because of language, but I can still post in threads. If anyone can explain to me why I can't I'd appreciate it.

Update on Things

Yo whats up everyone? It's been awhile since I wrote my last blog. Mainly cuz nothing interesting has happened that is worth mentioning. What can i say i lead a pretty boring life. Anyone remember that Navy commercial saying "if someone wrote a book about your life, would anyone read it". For me nobody would finish the first page. Heres a rundown of an average day for me:

1. Wake up (Between 2-5pm)

2. Begin playing games

3. Eat dinner

4. Play games til 5am or so.

5. Go to sleep when the sun is coming up.

Some days I would usualy hang out with my girlfriend, but as I mentioned in my last blog, she left yesterday. Yesterday was probably the saddest day I can ever remember (This even tops my neighbors house burning down and 3 of 4 of them dying because I could not save them). Thats how much she means to me. The night before she left I spent the whole day with her. I took her to an Italian restaurant called Berttucci's. The food was really good and she really liked in. Then, afterwards I took her for dessert at the restaurant we ate at for our one year anniversary back in November.

I know everyone has heard the cliche phrase "You never know what you've got until it's gone", but this really applied to me. All the time we spent fighting over stupid things and me ignoring her to hangout with other people has really come back to haunt me. Things she used to that kind of annoyed I soonly realized that I would miss. For instance she would always sing whatever song was on in the car. This bothered me in the past, but when we were riding in the car that night I realized I would not have that anymore. From that night on I would always be riding alone. Now thats shes gone I have many regrets of things that I did while she was here. We are going to try to make things work out while shes gone, but that will definitely be a challenge. I guess only time will tell.

On another note, when I logged onto Gamespot today I noticed they had redone the site. So far i like the setup. It looks much cleaner and everything doesn't look so mashed together. I took me an extra second to find out where all the old buttons went, but IMO its a good update to the site and I'm glad they did it.

Well thanks for reading my blog. I know its not really game related but I've discovered that writing helps me relieve stress. Leave some comments. Later

Bored with games + Thoughts on life

With it being the middle of summer I'm finding myself with LOTS and LOTS of time on my hands. This is started to become a problem because I've run out of ways to fill up my time. The majority of my free time is used to playing PS3, but now with the lack of games, I'm finding myself to be very bored. CoD4 as I mentioned in my previous blog has become nearly unplayable. I'm doing my best to stay away from playing that game and am replaying all of my old games. Lately I've revisited Resistance: Fall of Man, Assassin's Creed, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

The games are fun for maybe an hour, but then I just get bored again, doing the same missions, killing the same people, etc. Some new games have to be released and fast. The next big title I'm looking into is Resistance 2 which doesn't come out til November. What am I going to do until then as far as gaming? As I'm writing this blog I've already begun to think of stuff to do other than gaming in my free time. Before I was big on gaming I used to love working out. Lifting weights, running, all that good stuff. I went on a run with my girlfriend who is a workout machine yesterday and after a 2 miles i could barely breathe whereas she wasn't even winded. Not only was this incredibly embarrassing, but it made me think alot about my life currently.

I think of myself in the past and how I am today and the difference is ridiculous. Fitness wise I used to be in very good shape, now I'm completely out of shape. I just graduated highschool where I played basketball and football (not my senior year due to bad knees). Haven't played either sport since then. Kinda sad thinking back on it.

As great as gaming and everything is it really has had drawbacks on my life. During senior year while everyone else was applying for colleges, visiting them, getting ready, I was at home gaming. Now I'm stuck going to community college even though I had a 3.5 GPA, High SAT scores, and over 300 community service hours. I could have even gotten a scholarship there but in order to I had to write some BS essay, which I blew off completely and played games instead. I really need to get things together.

To top things off all my friends are leaving for college in the next month, including my girfriend who I've been with for over a year and a half. She's going to college in Alabama with a full scholarship for gymnastics aka her life. So after everyone leaves here I'm basically here by myself, no friends, nothing except my PS3 and job). So tomorrow I've decided that I'm going to go the gym, and try to find other things to do other than gaming. Am I going to stop playing altogether? Absolutely not, not even a chance, but I've still got to make improvements on myself. Spend more time with my friends, especially my girlfriend, get out more, do things other than sit at home all day and write blogs on Gamespot at 5:30 in the AM.

I know this wasn't the most interesting blog ever, but I was just free writing. Anything that was in my head I typed. Thanks for reading though. Leave some comments.

E3 Impressions+ CoD4 Downfall

I know it's a little late to just now be talking about e3 but I hadn'y gotten a chance to watch all of Sony's Conference until earlier today. Sony's E3 wasn't too bad compared to previous years. Some big titles caught my attnetion such as God of War 3, Killzone, Resistance 2, and a new game called MAG. MAG really caught my eye with the insane amount of people, the 8 person aquads, and the impressive graphics. This title may bring Sony out of the dust and make people start to appreciate the PS3 a little more.

Another annoucement that was made was that a new 80GB PS3 would be sold for 400$. This is a much better deal that I got for my 60GB for 600$. I only have 10 games and am already down to 20GB so an 80GB would be a wise choice for those who are just getting.

God of War 3 looked great as I had expected. Too bad very few was shown but from where GoW2 left off it can't be a bad title. Resistance 2 looked unique with the gigantic chimera that you fight in the beginning. Can't wait to play that game, finally something to get me off of CoD4 (which I now hate passionately)

Why do I hate CoD4 you may ask? Where do I even begin? The online community has ruined this game. Some of the annoying perks were always kind of a problem but that were tolerable, but the way people play now is just unacceptable. Between the hardcore camping (and I mean HARDCORE, marshmallows and everything- TM by huh_umm_pending) and the new obsession of throwing flash/stun grenades followed by a regular grenade makes this game a haven for seizures. I will literally get stun 3 times and then have a guy come up and knife me.

Like Powerman had said in his blog, all the good memories of this game have been ruined due to how people play now. Nobody cares about winning anymore, all they care about are their kills. I don't mind being killed by a player that is better than me, but when a player who thinks their better than me kills me in a BS manner, it's just too much. People have taken this game far more seriously than a game. To some, it's a way of life. Just yesterday I killed a guy 8 times in a row and he had to audacity to msg me and call me a cheater/hacker/lagger. He couldnt even accept the fact that he wasn't good enough to kill me because he thought he was so good. The trash talking of the game has just become out of control. I mean there was always the occasional 14 year old cry baby who would talk trash but now the second you get into a lobby somebody will immediately start trash talking.

The biggest problem now though is definitely the lag. It is near impossible to get into a game without the host ending the game or the game being so laggy that your bullets don't even register. This is due to the fact that IW has stopped giving a server for the game so the game just runs off the hosts internet. apparently lots of people have crappy internets because finishing a game is near impossible.

Anyways, I just can't wait for a new game to come out so I don't have to play Call of Duty anymore. I have other games, but I've beaten most of them and don't want to go back. Hopefully some new games will come out soon that are worth buying and playing.

First Blog

Alright well this will my first blog EVER. i'm very new to this so bare with me, Alright so I don't really know what to write about so all I'm guna do is list the games I currently own for PS3 in order from my faovite to the least favorite. Here it goes:

1. Metal Gear Solid 4

2. Call of Duty 4

3. Devil May Cry 4

4. Resistance: Fall of Man

5. Grand Theft Auto IV (Big let down)

6. Ninja Gaiden Sigma

7. Unreal Tournament 3

8. Assassin's Creed (Fun at first, but got too repetitive)

9. Army of Two

10. Warhawk

Well there are the games I own in the order from greatest to least. Leave me some comments on games you would recommend or leave some of your favorite games so far.

On a side note though I thought I'd share a funny story that occured while I was at work today. I work at a restaurant called Ledo Pizza, been working there for a little over 3 years (I'm only eighteen). So anyway what I do there is make pizza, subs, etc. Pretty nonfulfilling job. So tonight I was out in the dining room helping my buddy out whose a waiter bus some of his table after the rush was over. As I'm busing the tables my friend comes across an iPhone that someone had left on the table.

Now I know the right thing to do would be to find out whose it was, but we decided to steal it. So he gives me the phone to hold onto. Towards the end of the night our whole staff was closing up when all of a sudden this big dude comes walking in askingour manager if we have his phone. The manager had no idea that the phone was found so said she knew nothing about it. I come up front and the guy asks me if I knew anything about it. I tell him know and that I havent heard anything about any phones. so i continue on cleaning up and all of a sudden the dudes phone starts ringing and I'm standing 10 feet away from him with his phone ringing in my pocket. I've never felt so screwed in my life. The dude tells me to give him the phone and looks as if he wants to kill me. So I hand him it and pretend I knew nothing about it. He knew it was BS of course, but he just took it and left. No more than 15 minutes later the phone rings and its the guy asking for our manager. Since I was fortunate enough to answer the phone I told the guy I was the owner and he believe me. I listened to what happened and told him that the employee would be fired. He seemed pleased to hear that. Needless to say I am in no dilemma whatsoever and I'm not going to lose my job.
