@iammcgruber @Ailurusf Well, I hope you're right, and that one day I'll be able to play it on my computer. They did say on the video that it was an exclusive thing, but I clearly missed the 'timed' part.
And yeah, 'timed exclusive' is kind of a silly concept. If all I need to do is wait a couple of months, then there is no reason to change videogame system.
After the warm welcome that titles like Wolfenstein NO, Shadow Warrior and Rise of the Triad have had, the conditions are set for this to be a return to the roots of FPSs. Let's hope so.
Hope Beyond Good and Evil 2, Mirror's Edge 2 and Last Guardian come to life. Those three games have been the biggest teases for me in a long long time.
Sigh... I don't understand why my comments disappear.
Anyway, I'll post about it again. Thanks Carolyn for the great review. I love your style of reviewing, as well as the games you bring. We need more people like you in the industry :)
I like the idea of the show, but I'm not convinced of what it's been delivering. The three similar games are too well known, and most likely everyone has played them, or at least knows about them. Alternatively, the similarities Lisa mentions are too superficial, and didn't reveal aspects of the games I wasn't aware of ("both games have perks" or "both games deal with alternative histories" are a bit trite).
I don't want to sound to critical of the show. I just really like the concept and would love for it to be developed further.
@freedomzealot I'm so glad that 'indie' games and reviewers like Carolyn are slowly becoming the rule in videogames. I think it's time for the medium to grow up and develop itself as an art, even if backwards conservatives like you would prefer otherwise.
