Before we start with the monthly blog I just want to let you know that my avatar is of Kyle Wellwood after taking a beating in game 1 of round 2. I'll be using Canuck related avatars for as long as the playoffs last.

I'm going to keep this short so you can check out how my April was. It was a good month for me; I slowed down on the movies and caught up on a bit of gaming. Also bought a lot of Blu-Rays....that's it:P

That's about it from me. Hope you all had a good April as well:) For those interested the Canucks round 2 series is tied 1-1 out of a best of 7 series. Wish them luck:)

Vancouver Canucks: Getting to Know the Team

Giving an update on my last blog; The Canucks have swept the series 4-0 against the Blues. We don't know who we're playing for round two yet. If the Ducks win their series we will play the winner of the Chicago/Calgary series. If the Ducks lose then we play The Red Wings. So basically, Go Ducks Go!

I want to start off this section by saying I know no one cares about The Canucks and I'm fine with that, I don't care that you don't care:P I haven't felt like blogging about anything in a long time but I do fell like blogging about the Canucks at this time. It's better than no blog. This is more for me than it is for you. Maybe it will get me back into making more blogs, we'll see.

For this next section I just want you to kind of get to know the team better. If you're interested in learning a bit more about the Canucks then take a look at this next section.

There you have it. There's my Canuck blog for Round 1, maybe I'll do something similar for round 2 or maybe I'll even do blogs game by game. Hope you liked this blog and learned a little more about my team. Since I don't want you to be bored with my hockey blogs I've added something for the guys under this paragraph. Enjoy;) And Go Canucks Go!

Avatar, Canucks and Thanks

As I'm sure you all know I am a huge hockey fan and a huge Vancouver Canuck fan. For the first time in a long time the Canucks have made the playoffs. Last time we were in was when I was writing my very first blogs. Here are my 2nd, 3rd 4th, and 5th blogs I ever wrote. Our first game is tonight against the St Louis Blues. For those who don't know how it works it's a best out of 7 series and whoever wins that round goes onto the next round. There are 4 rounds in total. The winner of the 4th round will win the Stanley Cup.

I have temporarily changed my avatar to Roberto Luongo, the goaltender of the Vancouver Canucks for my support for the playoffs. I haven't decided if I will make new blogs with updates after each game we play. I don't know if you guys care but it's better than no blogs at all I think. Wish us luck in the playoffs, Go Canucks Go!

The other section of this blog is to show my appreciation to RuntyGorillia and synyster-666. Thanks to RuntyGorillia for his gift to me, a Team Canada banner. Thanks, I love it:)

The other thanks is for sysnyster-666 for his kind words in his Anniversary blog which can be seen here. Thanks buddy:)

That's all. I might make a new blog with an update on how the game goes tonight. For now, Go Canucks Go!

LD's March 2009 Monthly Blog

I had thought last month was a big movie month, but I decided to let myself get carried away in watching as many as possible. Being able to experience everything from acting to action, suspense to comedy and music to directing, there is so much to experience by watching a movie. I watched comedies, westerns, actions, mysteries and even things like war and kung-foo movies. I watched Academy Award winning movies and I even watched movies that got terrible reviews, just to give myself a lot of variety. In order to know what you like you have to experience a good amount from each genre, and that is what I tried to do this month. But March wasn't all about movies; I bought a few games too. Since I used my free time to watch movies I didn't get much game time in but I was able to finish Fire Emblem on the DS, which was very enjoyable.

As you can see I watched a lot of movies. I found it funny that from all the new movies I watched my movie of the month was one that I had already seen years ago. But that was the one I enjoyed the most and that's what a movie of the month is. Honestly though Pan's Labyrinth and Slumdog Millionaire were tied for movie of the month but I only wanted to have one. Since I just watched Slumdog yesterday, very late in the month, I choose Pan's Labyrinth. Amazing movies, I recommend them both. Hope you have a great April and you don't have to tell me I watched a lot of movies because I KNOW!:P

LD's February 2009 Monthly Blog

Not a lot of purchases this month but it was a busy month for movies. For the first time in my life I went to 2 movies back to back in the theaters. I get very hyped for The Academy Awards so I saw 2 oscar nominated movies. I am happy with the overall results of The Academy Awards. I considered February to be a month full of Academy Awards, Lego Batman and Clint Eastwood which is all great.

Comment of the Month
"The end to another month, eh? Hopefully February is a better month than January. I hope it is for me, even though I won two GS competitions in January. Nice work picking up the iPhone. My little brother has been trying to get once since release, his reason being that it is for educational purposes. I've seen some of The Shawshank Redemption on TV last year. I thought it was a good film, from what I saw. Morgan Freeman's narration was really good. I always liked the characters he played in any of the many films he's starred in, even though I've only seen a few of them. I saw the trailer for The Watchmen when I went to watch TDK in IMAX on Sunday. I've heard a lot of hype about this film, and the themes and issues that it discusses through out. Might consider watching it in IMAX when it comes out. You seem to like watching Death Proof a lot, eh? Can't get over that scene where Mary does what she does by the vender? Who's that hottie in the pic of the month? She looks a bit familiar. Don't worry about the whole weird start to the new year. It happens to pretty much everybody. Are you going to make it a routine from now on to show what you purchased in a group photo? You still haven't shown me a pic of the Bat-pod. I think I'll hold you to that" - synyster-666

February was a step in the right direction in terms of how my unlucky year started off. Hopefully that continues. Hope you all have a great March.

"I'm glat to hear from you and I'm happy it all had a happy ending. It was certainly a fantastic thing that everything in your laptop was backed up, I would go nuts if all my stuff would have gotten lost like that. I agree that it must feel horrible thinking that someone could be going through your files and whanot, it's most certainly a crude violation of one's intimcacy. I don't think that's the case though. I bet it's been put down to pieces the second after it got stolen. Wish you and yours a great New Year. Hugs" - Boom-moo

Overall I've had a little weird start to the New Year but it could always be worse. Hopefully you all had a great January.

---

There's my December. It was a pretty huge month for me as you can see. It was nice adding a lot of new addictions to my game, DVD and Blu-Ray collections. Hope you all had a great December as well.

(Quite an) Update

Hope you all had a great holidays and hopefully you had a nice 2008. I had an amazing years end. Christmas was nice with my entire family as well as giving and receiving the gifts;) I also had my birthday on the 31st of December. I turned...one year older;) With all of December to buy things and things to receive on Christmas and my Birthday I have quite the December monthly blog coming up. Sorry it's late but I think I have a pretty good excuse.

When I turned on my laptop (I use a laptop not a computer) on the 27th of December, it had a software problem and needed to be taken in for repairs. A family friend takes care of all our computer needs so I take it to him for it to be fixed. It was hard with no laptop. No GameSpot, no anything. I get a phone call on January 6th and I find out that his place got broken into and my laptop, along with a lot of his computers, laptops etc. were stolen. My laptop hadn't been fixed yet so the people who stole it couldn't even turn it on. Plus they didn't get the cord and my battery only lasts about 5 minutes. I don't think they were able to use it which is a huge relief for me as they could have taken everything. There is also the possibility that they didn't even try to turn it on and just took it apart and sold the pieces but no ones knows for sure. My laptop bag was stolen too. It's a really weird feeling getting stolen from, you feel so violated, helpless, it's a weird feeling.

But the story is going to get better. After I was told it was stolen I was told that they would buy me a new laptop, a good one much better than my old one (I was told 10x better:P) Because this guy is a friend of mine (I'm guessing) he didn't just get me any laptop, he got me an awesome laptop. To me it's awesome anyway. They also had everything from my old laptop backed up so I have all my files from my old laptop in the new one. It was flown into here from Toronto in one day and I now have it and am using it. I even got a new case too! The screen is huge compared to what I'm used to although it's not a big laptop. So I'm back but still kind of on my break. I'll be making my December monthly blog soon but I still won't be as active as I used to.

In the end I'm not sure if this story is a good story or a bad. It's probably on the better side but it's sad to know my laptop is in the hands of someone else. If you have a laptop you know they are very personal. But overall I'm happy, it's quite the start to a new year though:P

Also my new laptop has a built in webcam/camera so this may be interesting:P Here's a test of the camera. A shirt you may reckognize;)

Happy 2009!:)

Taking a Break

I never wanted this day to come but it is here. I'm going to be taking a break from GameSpot. I'm not leaving completely, just seriously decreasing my time spent here. I won't be posting blogs like I have been before. The only blogs I plan on creating now are my monthly blogs, but nothing's for sure. I'm sorry to say I won't be commenting on your blogs either. But like I said, I'm not completely leaving. I will still be visiting GameSpot and my profile, just to check in. I will still be answering PMs, and I will probably comment on a few blogs here and there, but I'm not promising anything. I sincerely apologize to the 2 people who I am supposed to be interviewed by. I'm afraid my answers for the interviews will be put on hold. You may be wondering why I am taking this break, although I'm not going to say why, I will say it's not a big deal and nothing bad has happened. I just don't want you to think in that way. Please remember I am not completely leaving, I just need to take some time off. I hope to return to my full self in the near future.
It's also my 2nd Anniversary on GameSpot today
Best of the Month

Purchase of the Month
Gears of War 2 Limited Edition and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts

Sorry I picked two. The Limited Edition of Gears of War 2 because it's an amazing game and has been one of my most anticipated games of 2008. Nuts and Bolts because I have been waiting for this game ever since I can remember. Now it is finally out and I can play it.

Movie of the Month
Sin City

The uniqueness of this movie makes it. It's a great movie (although it's about 3 mini movies in one). Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Pulp Fiction and Memento are all equally as good but since I had to pick one, I choose Sin City. So many ties this month:P

Game of the Month
Gears of War 2 - NHL 09 - Banjo-Kazooie XBLA

All 3 of these games I spent about the same amount of time on and love each one for it's own reasons. Gears 2 because it's Gears 2. NHL 09 because I love hockey and it's the best hockey game ever made. And Banjo-Kazooie because the original is my 2nd favourite game of all-time and I love playing this updated version.

Songs of the Month

1. The Servant - Cells (Instrumental)
2. AC/DC - Long Way To The Top
3. AC/DC - TNT

Comment of the Month

"Awesome way to pull some memories and statistics there, congrats on a job really well done! You might think people don't notice, but I think we all do when a blog has taken a long time to be put up, and I know yours do. Really looking forward to the next part. LOL, you cracked me up with your first pm  And about being friend with people about whom we don't know the age, the looks, the whatever... that's what matters least to me. People are important for what they are and what they make us feel. Many hugs:)" - Boom-moo

That's it. I'm looking forward to December which involves Chritmas and my Birthday! Hopefully you had a great November as well as myself.
