Pokemon Stadium is a decent game based on the popular TV show but is a little dissapointing.
Pokemon Stadium is a turn-based fighting game, much like the gameboy games. You take turns in doing your move (attacking or switching pokemon), each pokemon has a certain type that determines their moves and their strengths and weaknesses. The thing that will draw most people to this game is the fact that you can take your pokemon from your gameboy game and transfer it onto this game, the pokemon also have all of their levels with them. The game has a tournament mode where they stack you against 8 other pokemon masters who each have a badge. If you beat one then you move on to the next guy, if you lose then you've got to continue and try again. Besides the tournament mode there are a bunch of minigames that aren't very attractive. Easily the best thing about this game is the graphics, they are even better than Pokemon Snap. All of the pokemon look like they should, the way the pokemon attack is pretty basic though. Unfortunatly, the game doesn't sound as nearly as good as it looks. The game's soundtrack is pretty boring, there is also an announcer that will announce the winner and stuff like that. Unfortunatly the announer doesn't have any variety of what he says so he'll often repeat things that he said earleir in the match near the end.
If you're a big pokemon fan and are attached to Pokemon Snap and the Gameboy pokemon games then go out and get this game cause you'll enjoy it a lot. But if you aren't a big fan of the pokemon series then you might want to give this game a rent before purchasing it.
