The good and bad of OFP: dragon rising

User Rating: 3.5 | Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising X360
let me start off by saying that there are way too many fan boys in here trying to give the game a high rating.... suckering in people to buy this game. THIS GAME IS NOT WORTH 60$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE GOOD: the game has its ups when it looks pretty. you can run for a longer amount of time than in any other shooter ive played, which is good considering that i get frustrated when im trying to run for cover when being shot at, but my character who would rather take a breather than to sprint a few more feet!

The sounds are pretty good. no dramatic music constantly blaring. makes it seem more authentic.

your team mates let you know where an enemy is at.

THE BAD: theres a lot in this category so i will try to hit as many points as possible.

I was so hyped for this game when watching all the commercials. i even you tubed videos just to see what was the latest with the additions and what was already supposed to be in this game. I remember them saying something about this being a very realistic shooter.... to the point that when you shoot somebody's arm in the right spot that you could actually see the limb come off. Grenades would tear bodies apart. you would feel like your actually in the middle of a war... not a kiddy shooter where you shoot somebody in the head 5 times and they still come after you!

its frustrating when you point your crosshairs at somebody and shoot........ no hit. WAIT, i just lined them up in my sights.... shot a couple rounds and nothing happened? let me get a little closer and try again.... SAME THING?!!!! it would make sense if they were trying to be ultra realistic in the fact that at longer distance shots you have to take into mind that there are wind variables, dew, gravity, etc. but this game does none of that... so you are just simply shooting a broken mis-aligned gun!

AI does let you know where an enemy is at.... BUT.... they will start shooting at them before you can try to be stealth and set them up in postition to over take them without any casualities. your team mates will run in front of your gunfire and yell at you for shooting them! They will often give your position away on missions where your supposed to go unseen and unheard!

You can shoot an enemy but it doesnt seem to do anything to them. no realism in them being shot WHAT-SO-EVER!!!!

All the marketing about this game being "open world" is a blatent lie. you are forced to stay on mission, going in a certain direction. Want to go explore? go ahead, but in a couple minutes the game will end because you didnt cover somebody when needed (tanks, helicopter, friendly troops). start from last check point again!

There are not alot of gins in this game at all..... hahahaha. i cant believe they tryed to say there were. to the guys that made this game, their idea of different guns is putting a scope on a gun (which you cant select... you either have to start with one or find one.... or better yet kill one of your own team to get one) and calling it a different gun!

This game was more about marketing hype than being a real tactical shooter. it sucks to come in here and find so many fan boys, who are probably the guys who developed this game, try to say that this is a good game, that you should definitly go out and get it. its a joke. this game is a joke. if you want to buy this game than do yourself a favor.... go on youtube... watch all the videos about it before it came out... than go out and buy it. play it for a few days and you'll notice all the lies the producers told you. than you sit back and look at your wallet.... wishing you had the 60 bucks to go out and buy a real game!

The mission can get very boring REALLY fast!
