When I first bought this game, I wanted to break my PSP. But, with a little help from the internet, I can't put it down.

A few years ago I was wandering around Best Buy looking for games on my brand new Sony PSP. Since I love rpg games, Monster Hunter Freedom 2 looked like it would be great for me. So I picked it up at around $20, and brought it home. Within the first 30 minutes of playing, I was yelling at my PSP. This game, at first, is the single most frustrating thing ever. I gave up on it for a year. I pretty much just left it under my bed. Until I found it again, and decided to try it out (not remembering my past struggles). Being a bit more mature, I played it some more. After a few tries, I indeed killed my first Giadrome, got Giaprey Armor, and an Iron Katana. I was happy. I started playing more and more, and kept advancing. Then, it got hard again. But not wanting to give up on the game, I just went on to the internet. And then I happened upon a Wiki site, all about the Monster Hunter series. It basically saved my life.

The first thing I noticed about this game, is the graphics. For a PSP, it is absolutely amazing. The only downside to this is you have to load a lot. But it is easily fixable in the settings on the main menu. The controls in this game do take a bit of getting used to. The L button is very useful for the camera, and well, after a while you just learn to use your left index finger to reach the D-Pad to manually change it. The fighting is very intense. It inquires a lot of dodging, running, setting traps, throwing things, slashing, hacking, and blowing **** up. Some fights last forever. It took me about 55 minutes to kill my first Tigrex. But after you get the hang of it, you start to specialize in one type of weapon, and just get very damn good at it. I myself chose the Long Sword, an easy and versatile weapon with high damage. The monsters are for the most part unique, sometimes they just did a reskin, but they changed the difficulty atleast. Another great thing about this game, is the co-op play. Yes, it doesn't have online, but It makes it better over LAN because you can actually talk to eachother. It is always great to have your buddies over and, well, to just **** **** up. We practically danced when we killed our first White Fatalis.

If you choose to not destroy this game after the first hour, then you should be having mass amounts of fun with it. Be it with friends, or on your own, this game is a must-buy if you are into RPG type games.
