So it won't exactly give you the fix for you nostalgia that you were looking for. Atleast not that "First play-through" feeling though it does bring back a whole lot of good feelings. It also seems as if they filled in some holes in the story line (i.e. "patriot" refrences) or it could just be that its clearer after having played Sons of Liberty. Some relevent voice actors/actress have made the jump back from MGS2 to play their younger counterparts. Even the woman that played Emma Emerich is in this game (though not as Emma) as the Doctor Naomi Hunter (If memory serves) Your old cast returns - Raven, Ocelot, Liquid, Wolf, Psycho Mantis and (personal fav) the Cyborg Ninja. The game goes one further than keeping with the old story and the old characters and even keeps the same Codec images (the 2D drawings). You still have all your old equipment, the bosses, lots of old cinematics with improved graphics. Even the end game bonuses (stealth camo etc.) still exist as well as a HUGE bonus if you beat the game saving Meryl (You'll know what it is when you find out, for kicks, read the credits). And of course the trucks are still running all these years later and if you climb in and equip a box you can get around much like the original On the other end, whats new? Well obviously the graphics are new and I'm pretty sure that some of the dialogues have been beefed up a bit with some new info pertaining better to the on-going story. Some of the newer features from MGS2 have made into the game (which changes the stealth aspect slightly). You can frisk people for Dog Tags, you can hang from ledges, and you can run and shoot at the same time (not sure on these, been awhile since I played the original). There are also some extra features in the game. You can play a Boss Survival Mode, View all your dogtags and watch a "briefing" by Cambell to give you extra background info. You can also watch all the cinematics in the game once you've beaten the game though only in the way you've beaten it. By this I mean that certain choices in the game can put a twist on the game which changes certain cinematics and only once you've beaten the game in a certain method will those particular cinametics be viewable. The cinematics with the Cyborg Ninja in particular are fun to watch =). All in all its a great game on its own though its much more fun if you've played the original version because some of the things certain bring back good memories.
