Total worldwide shipments and digital sales for the remake of survivalhorror gameSilent Hill 2 have surpassed one million units worldwide, publisher Konami and developer Bloober Teamannounced.

Silent Hill 2 launched for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on October 8.

Famitsu has awarded the game a 35/40! Good stuff! But the majority of reviews will be coming out this Friday. What is your hype, SW? As someone who loved the original, I think the initial teasers didn't do it justice, but the later videos were great. I'm going with 9/10 GS, 88 MC!

Silent Hill is such a failed series, I don't understand the hype around it.

I played and finished the first 2 games, ok games, but nothing special.

As for what GS will give it, **** knows 🤷‍♂️

I don’t think you can handle horror games with realistic graphics. It would scare you.

I can't get excited for anything from Bloober Team. No current hype on my end. They would have to surprise me

I might get it regardless. Haven't actually bought a game for my PS5 yet just been doing PS Plus Premium these last couple years because that's enough. But been a big fan of Bloober since Layers Of Fear and Observer. I'll wait for a future sale though. Got my hands full these days anyways.

Not really that hype tbh. 7/10 GS and MC.

Probably around 80-84.

This is a day one purchase but not really hype about it as I want to keep my expectations in check because early gameplay was in bad shape.

That said, I'll go with an 9/10 with 80MC.

The game looks very atmospheric and immersive like my kind of game but sadly never played any silent hill so my introduction to series.

Dead Space on PC is rather nice, but it suffers from annoying stutters when a new room loads.

I'm wrapping up Space Marine 2, I'm up for some coop this weekend if you are.

They are hopefully positively surprised that a dev who have only made average to bad games pulled off something better. Bit sad it had to be a copy of somebody else's work, but good nonetheless.

early gameplay was bad but they overhaul gameplay and after newer gameplay I was on board with this glad it turn out good.

original got a 89 meta and a 7.7 GS.

Save your money and buy the better version(2001original) according to meta in HD with the collection edition,SH3 included,on PS and Xbox.

Games copy all the time. I'm glad Helldivers devs copied the 3rd person camera from other games instead of relying on top down ;)

But nah, I think Bloober was succesful in their niche in the past. Layers of Fear has a cult following, Observer was a bit too relient on jump scares but I plan to return to it and The Medium really did it for me and I thought was a great game.

I just realized it releases this week (thought it was releasing in 2025 for some reason), and it releases in 2 days if you get the Deluxe Edition. I never order Deluxe Editions, but this is an exception. That's how hyped I am. Silent Hill 2 is one of my favorite games ever, and I initially thought this remake was blasphemy, but the recent trailers sold me on it

Silent Hill 2 is stand alone, so it's a good entry point to the series. 1 and 3 are connected story wise, and 4 is another stand alone entry (with references to Silent Hill 2). They're all amazing games, especially 2 and 4.

They are pretty sneaky about these editions.

The advanced access will always release in the weekend, while the regular edition will always release in the week. They are banking on people wanting to play this early, but also on when people have the most time available.

I completely get you (and many others) buying this. But for me this always feels like 10-20 dollars ballpark that will evaporate after a few days.

another 9 for ps5 players. ps5 third party exclusives are on a role in 2024.

I wasn't sure before about this remake but I'm starting to get hyped for it seeing a 9/10, I'll check out some other reviews and see if I will pick it up but sounds good so far.

Remakes are best thing happen in decades. best way to revisit original.
