It should have been Rodgers.

He won? I still have no idea why they let people who have been on the cover in the past into the tournament. Oh well, as a Giants fan this is good, because it means an anvil will drop on his head or something pretty soon. Long live the Madden Curse!DarthBilf
Oh come on you wish it was Djax :P
EA Sports would have to be clinically insane to allow a convicted dog fighter like Michael Vick onto its esteemed cover as it'll send the wrong message to kids and consumers alike. Just because he had one good year in the NFL again doesn't mean that we should vote in disgusting human beings like Michael Vick and EA shouldn't have even put him in the running. Shame on EA Sports and everyone that voted for him.

hows that pedestal ur on...comfy?
Cry me a river. This pretty much sums up why he shouldn't be on there. Not to mention the whole topic of Madden in general. ...

I'd rather it was Aaron Rogers personally, especially for all of his and the Packer's achievments last season.Plus Michael Vick(along with his brother) seems to have some serious, serious problems,...but damn if he isn't one of the most exciting QBs in the NFL.

People love dogs in a lot of countries. In India they love cows, but here in the States we slaughter them (and not humanely) so that we may eat them. We say it's okay because we raise the cattle specifically for this purpose, so they would not have lived otherwise.
Fighting dogs are usually bred for the specific purpose of dog fighting. As such, I fail to see how it is any different. I'm not saying I condone the practice of dog fighting (or breeding fighting dogs), but as long as I eat beef I don't really feel that I'm in a position to judge the activities.

maybe im just justifying my own actions but you can find countless situations where dogs have shown the ability to sympathize with other creatures pain and suffering and attempt to help.
when was the last time a cow cared about anything going on in it's environment.

i won't judge vick (well, very much at least) but to equate dogs and cattle is not a good argument.
They are both animals. I've had dogs. I love dogs. But they are still animals, if even compassionate ones.
You could flip that around and say when was the last time you saw a cow visciously attack a human child?
My point being is that if these dogs are raised for the purpose of fighting, the situation is not very different from our meat industries. Have you seen the methods of slaughter employed by cow farmers?
Proof of that? He's the only athlete I'm a fan of on facebook. Dogs are animals, not people. They have no soul.

Lol i bet all the anti-vick hypocrities:
* Eat meat, drink milk etc (ANIMAL ABUSE :@)
EVEN MORE ANIMAL ABUSE!!!
Thats what the cow/animal, goes through before you eat your nice juicy burger, steak, bacon, etcYet NONE of you, "boycott" farmers, or supermarkets ?
Huh, the mind of hypocrites really does puzzle me :|.
You boycott Nike for supporting Mike vick (why not boycott them for their child labor factories and low wage death factories instead, seems kinder tedious that you boycott them because of...MIKE VICK???)....hilarious that you do, whilst supermarkets who pay the farmers, treat cows even worse, than Mike Vick DID...keyword here DID, that still goes on.Do you like bacon and eggs in the morning ? This is what the pig goes through before you eat it.
How about Milk, you guys like Milk? betcha have no clue where it comes from tho ?
"uhh jeez i dunno duz it c0me frum da m1lk man"??How is THAT any different from what Mike Vick did?..
EDIT:
Google if you have the time "horse racing abuse" you know those jockeys that race in those races? you know them?...right...well they abuse the horses racing in them, and they get abused serverly, and this "horse" racing game, is a sport aswell, what about those horses?...why not ban everyone who likes that ? and charge the jockeys and everyone in on it?
I think they should get charged for abusing the horses, also because horse racing is boring aswell theres no point to it, its pointless, the only thing that happens is horses getting abused...a more fitting name for the sport would be horse beating, since thats what the jockeys do to the horses.TheAcountantMan
Lol, this post was thoroughly entertaining.
Firstly, I believe that what Vick did is entirely forgivable (even though what he did is wrong), and shouldn't be lumped together with other atrocities such as child molestation. :? He paid his dues for it as well, and continues to. I'll always be a fan of Vick's on the field performance, and though part of his past is deplorable, I'm still a fan of him off the field.

Now, with your post,TheAcountantMan: I agree! I'm not some hippie vegan; I love meat, and believe it's fair to eat it, but what happens to a lot of animals that are "mass produced" for our consuption is just wrong. I really admire farmers who run free-range establishments, even though the animals will be killed for our consuption. It's much more "humane", respectable, and less profitible.
I've also heard of horse jockeys killing their horses! I'm not a fan of horse racing, but what you mention sounds terrible, and for some reason, it's overlooked / forgiven.
there is not one dog that if trained could not do what this dog did. They are both animals. I've had dogs. I love dogs. But they are still animals, if even compassionate ones.

that's the difference in the crime of eating a cow and killing a dog for entertainment.

Dogs, the new Gingers. :P
This is exactly the publicity EA is hoping for by putting the guy on the cover  all these anti-vick cry babies are doing is shining more light on Madden 12 which means more people will buy it this year.Sp4rtan_3
Yeah, it's free publicity, but I still won't buy it; I'm not a fan of the franchise. :P

Me either (NFL2K FTW) but this certainly isn't the last we're going to hear about this "controversy". Micheal Vick did his time and seems to have came out a better person and football player I don't see how putting him on the box of a videogame is teaching kids bad values lol.ok one more and i will leave you alone on this.
here is the vicious fighting animal bred to die for peoples entertainment.

Being able to dial 911 is the standard for whether an animal can be tortured or not?
A lot of animals can be trained, but they are still animals.

i would say doing it for the entertainment value is the standard for whether an animal can be tortured or not.believe me if it came donw to the nitty gritty and i was starving i would eat a dog in a heartbeat, what i would not do is torture an animal because it makes me feel good.

I understand where you're coming from, and I don't condone animal cruelty. But, you know, those mega food corporations don't follow the procedures they have solely for "providing the basic need of sustenance for humans", lol. I'm sure those profits make them "feel good"!

yeah but once you move into that territory you blow the lid off the whole thing. union carbide, monsanto, halliburton ect ect ect...we are all guilty if you want to take it that far.
i'm talking about a person that derives pleasure from directly inflicting pain on another living creature.
i think there is a bit of a difference from being indirectly involved in a corrupt system and getting a thrill from an animal bloodsport.
and before anyone brings up human bloodsports (cuz i see it coming) they are different because the human chooses to step into the ring.
I stopped buying Nike because they sponsor him. I will not be getting Madden 2012 for the same reason.AmazonTreeBoaNIKE AND EA, WATCH OUT. This man, who has an extraordinary impact on society, one of the most important people in the world right now, has threatened to boycott EA. This is the end of the world. What in the world is EA going to do? Don't worry, I am sure when Vick receives his 20 million dollar contract this year, someone will inform Vick, that an important human being has threatened to boycott EA because he won't support Michael Vick. When Vick hears this, I am sure he will shed a tear... LOL LOL LOL. You honestly think your little boycott is going to hurt them in sales? Why were the Eagles the most watched team in the NFL this season? Why were they moved to prime time television? Why was Vicks jersey the 6th best selling jersey in the league? Why is Vicks bracelet endorsements out of stock? Unequal Technology (Vicks other endorsement) sales rose 1000% when Vick came on board. I am sure Vick is trembling because you are going to boycott Nike and EA, lmfao lOL LOL LOL Dogs are **** Football is more important and society agrees. That's why Vick is back making millions and getting endorsements. If Vick wants to kill his PROPERTY, then go ahead. None of my business.
I hope its Hillis........just so the curse doesn't effect my QB micheal vick........honestly wouldn't you want him to win it..........so he'll get hurt maybe if you hate the guy so much lol............i love him but he screws up bad again BLAH on him
Rodgers deserves it purely cause he shares the same second name as myself and was a really good player last season
Vote am rigged confirmed?! or am i just stooping to the tin foil hat brigade on that :P
