EA Sports would have to be clinically insane to allow a convicted dog fighter like Michael Vick onto its esteemed cover as it'll send the wrong message to kids and consumers alike. Just because he had one good year in the NFL again doesn't mean that we should vote in disgusting human beings like Michael Vick and EA shouldn't have even put him in the running. Shame on EA Sports and everyone that voted for him.

Madden cover is what you did on the field, not off the field. He paid his time to society.

He won? I still have no idea why they let people who have been on the cover in the past into the tournament. Oh well, as a Giants fan this is good, because it means an anvil will drop on his head or something pretty soon. Long live the Madden Curse!

  • You don't play the cover.
  • He served his time. No need to continue serving it.
  • Stay out of his personal life if you care so much.
  • Doesn't make him any less of a athlete.
  • EA will sell more copies due to the attention given to the game now.

Which reminds me, EA puts more time into this poll than creating a good football game.

This pretty much sums up why he shouldn't be on there. Not to mention the whole topic of Madden in general. ...

So your saying humans shouldn't have second chances and kids should know that they don't exist? anyway i'm glad that Vick is the cover, imo he is the most entertaining qu to watch.

I think Aaron Rodgers deserves it more actually. I mean a quarterback who was pretty much not known by anyone when Brett Favre was there and here he is winning a Superbowl.

While i think Rodgers earned it by a LONG SHOT, do we not believe in forgiveness? We have all done things in our lives that we are not proud of, or that we wish we could do differently. He paid his debt, and now is working to make a difference. At the very least, he deserves to be nominated. People can be so cynical sometimes, as if we are all angels without any imperfections.

cant believe people are actually defending this sociopath...

its disgusting.

there are 2nd chances for mistakes... pumping dogs full of steroids and electrocuting them isnt a "whoops my hands slipped" mistake. Its a willful act of a sociopath.

Its not like his behavoir is like "yea i thought what i did was totally cool and legal, but i made a mistake"

its a "yea i knew what i was doing was totally wrong, but torturing animals gives me a boner... but ill stop cuz i got arrested"

soooo sick, people that support the guy are sooooo sick.

What? I for one am not supporting him. I will defend him when people cannot get over the fact that he did his time in prison and is rising to become a superstar, again, in the NFL.

More likely kids will see that the American justice system gives special favor to celebrities and the rich, no matter how disgusting thier crimes are.

Condemnation and judging others is pretty sick as well. You dont know how he truly feels, now, about what he did. So only simple slips deserve second chances? What would the equal rights movement had been like if a criminal like Malcolm X had not been given a second chance?

Why was this thread created? He's not on it yet. He's just a finalist. The winner will be announced April 27. It's between him and Peyton Hillis, and honestly, Hillis is getting some serious backing. He crushed Aaron Rodgers (quite sad since he deserves it. But I don't know if I'd want him on it anyway due to the curse....). Anyway, thread title is a bit misleading.

burglary and animal torture are 2 different crimes, one has a financial motive... one has no financial motive... you just like seeing creatures suffer. You are mentally deranged in the second scenario.

Its like killing a guy because you got home early and he was sexing your wife vs killing a homless guy because you wanna see what it looks like when he bleeds out.

Certain crimes are those of the mentally deranged... as is the case with michael vick. It wasnt a crime a passion, it wasnt a crime bourne of poverty, it was a crime of a sociopath that thinks torturing animals is fun time. Which is a common attribute amongst serial killers.

For dogfighting? When drunk drivers get charges knocked down to manslaughter and serve 2-4 yrs? When drug dealers who sell deadly drugs get less time for tellin on people? Come on dude, lets be realistic instead of cynical. So youve never done wrong in your life? And im talkin about YOU, not what Vick did.

Fair enough. I never studied law, so I am no where near ever being a judge, and therefore have no real basis for levying punishments out.

cant believe people are actually defending this sociopath...

its disgusting.

there are 2nd chances for mistakes... pumping dogs full of steroids and electrocuting them isnt a "whoops my hands slipped" mistake.

Condemnation and judging others is pretty sick as well. You dont know how he truly feels, now, about what he did. So only simple slips deserve second chances? What would the equal rights movement had been like if a criminal like Malcolm X had not been given a second chance?

burglary and animal torture are 2 different crimes, one has a financial motive... one has no financial motive... you just like seeing creatures suffer.

Dog fighting is all about gambling.....

What's the big deal? He did something wrong, he admitted it, he served his time, and he's back. Deal with it. He's a great athlete and a decent enough person who made one mistake and now people act like he's the worst thing to walk on Earth.
