Not really.. moving forward, the truth is that all you need is a PC..

PC has PlayStation games, Xbox games, Nintendo games (emulation), and tons of games not available anywhere else.. PC has objectively won the software conversation in terms of System Wars.. and PC has always won the hardware conversation.. PC has won..

there's not much more to talk about beyond that other than what ecosystem you prefer; which is all subjective..

They don't have any choice. They can't sell games on their own platform to it's up to Sony to save the day. They bought all those pubs that were supposed to release their games for Playstation anyway and owned themselves because not only have Xbox gamers got completely dependent on Game Pass, people stopped buying Xbox consoles on top of that.

People will get excited for PS6 for the same reason that got people excited for PS consoles before it... games. And they're only getting more games since Xbox got smacked TF down. Sony didn't need Xbox before, but getting MS to bend the knee to Playstation is just the cherry on top. Xbox is nothing but another third party notch on Sony's belt now. You're gonna have to deal with it

Sales figures still mean a lot when it comes to Sony because high console sales and sales of the games means that third-party publishers like Microsoft will want to put their games on the console.

Microsoft knows people on GP don't like paying for their games so they have to make money somehow.

@girlusocrazy: exactly...console hardware isn't so meaningful in 2025. The Xbox console is only one component of the xbox platform. We also have amazon fire sticks, meta VR, smart TV, billions of smartphones, tablets and PC, and more. On top of that xbox sells games as a 3rd party publisher on other consoles as well.

Hey, It's something for them to play at least. Sony's last release was 7 months ago and it was an 11 hour platformer. a month before that it was Concord. Got to get that 1st party fix from somewhere..

The platforms that has the cheapest option to play are the platforms that took advantage of it. 😎
